The key here is that the Democrats know that thirty percent of Republicans will not vote for Palin under any circumstance (similar to the same group who would not vote for McCain under any circumstance). The entire 2012 election campaign for Obama is dependent on Palin being the candidate...and thus easily beaten. Krauthammer is correct in that they really are focused on getting her name out. Take a look at the Washington Post over the past four months...almost weekly reports on Palin. Go over to NBC, CBS and ABC...they still report at least once a week on Palin. Go over to MSNBC, and it’s hour by hour that they report on Palin. They know who they want in November of 2012.
What about the 90% of Republicans who would never vote for ROMNEY?
EXACTLY, media is doing all they can to make Palin the nominee against dumbo. For the life of me I can’t understand the attraction people have to Palin.
The media is manipulating the nation. How did Juan McCain come from way back and almost broke, sure to drop out to become the nominee in about 3 short weeks? Why did Romney suddenly drop out?
Why have we not heard reports about how relatively vacant the airports were this holiday. Family accounts are that the airports were sparsely populated. All the media has reported is that “things went smoothly”. I saw none of the traditional reports of crushing crowds of holiday travelers. Did any of you?
Almost weekly reports? I can't remember the last time I looked at the Washington Post or New York Times and not found some reference to Sarah Palin. They are obsessed with her. She is everything they abhor in a woman.
“They know who they want in November of 2012.”
Really. If she is so easy to beat, why not hold your fire until she is safely nominated and then unload on her (which is exactly what they intend to do to Mittens and Huckster and Newt in the event they are nominated)?
the Fact is they have fired all their ordinance at her, and she is still the likely GOP nominee.
She’ll be easy to beat, you say? Which McCain states from 2008 will she lose to Obama? How is Obama looking in Ohio, Virginia, North Carolina, Florida and Indiana, all states he carried in 2008 but which are out of his reach now, based upnon the polls and the 2010 midterms.
The elitist Krauthammer, former Fritz Mondale spechwriter and Jimmy Carter staffer, is embarrassed by Palin. I heard him yesterday on Bret Baier advising the GOP and the Tea Party to shelve the social issues in 2012, exactly the opposite strategy that Regan employed and advocated as far back as his 1977 speech to CPAC. Palin is not going to shelve the social issues. And she is a woman who is more powerful and gets more attention than any man. Neither of these realities is tolerable to Krauthammer.
She gets attention because she commands attention.
Apparently so.
It reminds me of how conservatives were pushing Obama due to fear of the Clintons.
Note to libs: be careful what you wish for.
Your statement that 30% of the GOP will not vote for Palin under any circumstance is utter BS!
Hey I can see President Palin press conference now,
“Are you going to drill for oil in Amwar?”
“You Betcha!”
The media is not doing this for election 2012. They are doing this because Palin brings viewers. And viewers bring advertisers. And advertisers bring mo’ money.
Money makes the world go round. If they think President Palin meant they would make more money they’d throw Obama overboard in a minute.
Where do I find recent statistics that cause you to state emphatically Sarah Palin can not win against Obama?
Considering the midterm gains and the momentum of the “fed up” in this country, I am interested in reviewing analysis supporting your forgone conclusion.
Seem’s being practicle has served the conservative movement so well... /sarc
