In the current controversy over the 80,000-troop 'Consequence Management Response Force' that is charged in part with 'helping with civil unrest,' the hypocrisy of the Leftwing has become abundantly clear when it comes to standing armies being used against American citizens.
The program was planned and the first stage was implemented under the administration of George W. Bush. At that time the program involved only one brigade of the 3rd infantry at Fort Stewart.
Since 2008 the program has been expanded to include personnel from all branches of the military, far beyond Fort Stewart, and far beyond the meager 6000 troops or so that were initially part of the plan.
The Leftwing, however, claims that Americans should not be worried, that this program is designed only to serve the citizens in the event of a major, catastrophic national disaster--although the plan itself states plainly that part of its role is to 'help with civil unrest.'

It does not matter if I own a weapon or not. Despite your attempt to deflect and ignore Romans 13 and 1 Peter 2:13 by focusing on my doubt about what the swords of Luke 22:36 are about, 1 Timothy 5:8 has much more to do with food and clothing than defense, given the context of the chapter.

Right. God helped the Jews in battle when they were righteous, and fought against them when they were sinful, like us here in the USA.

You just denied Romans 13 and 1 Peter 2:13. That Nazi government was ordained by God to match the ungodly German people. We have the government we deserve with our lack of faith, repentance, fasting, ... and also given our great sinfulness. Obama and his minions were voted in by this “Christian” nation, because the pastors in the pulpits are overwhelmingly lukewarm.
It’s the story of much of the whole Old Testament. Jews turn backs on God, God threatens them with powerful enemies.
Just like us with China, Russia, Al Qaeda, the Democrats, North Korea, and Iran.
Get some books on past revivals, and study them. Study your Bible.
See the tagline. We are screwed without Christian revival whether from our government, or from attack from the outside.

When God is against your land on the part of the lukewarm church, and raises up evil government well deserved by the church, you’re welcome to deflect and ignore by calling violence by the government “random”, and thus doing so falsely exonerate yourself and the church, and falsely give yourself license to take up arms.

The theme of the Old Testament is, God raising up powerful enemies to punish his people who should know better.
