Leftwing Hypocrisy on Standing Armies Used Against Citizens
Conservative Examiner ^ | 4/14/2010 | Anthony G. Martin

Posted on 04/14/2010 12:09:43 PM PDT by Welshman007

In the current controversy over the 80,000-troop 'Consequence Management Response Force' that is charged in part with 'helping with civil unrest,' the hypocrisy of the Leftwing has become abundantly clear when it comes to standing armies being used against American citizens.

The program was planned and the first stage was implemented under the administration of George W. Bush. At that time the program involved only one brigade of the 3rd infantry at Fort Stewart.

Since 2008 the program has been expanded to include personnel from all branches of the military, far beyond Fort Stewart, and far beyond the meager 6000 troops or so that were initially part of the plan.

The Leftwing, however, claims that Americans should not be worried, that this program is designed only to serve the citizens in the event of a major, catastrophic national disaster--although the plan itself states plainly that part of its role is to 'help with civil unrest.'

Please do not ping me again. Your words are not welcome and I find you a so very Hypocritical that it is almost laughable. Your own words declare the US as unbiblical founded as it was created from rebellion, which you claim is against God so if it is not a Godly country in its creation why would I follow it? What harm is done by not following a government that was ungodly founded? Two have you repented for the rebellion and declared that the rightful ruler of those lands call themselves the United States is Elizabeth the II the heir of King George III. Do not you carry on the sin of rebellion by failing to recognize your true ruler and continuing the sin of rebellion by not returning sovereignty to the rightful ruling family displace by the sin of rebellion?
For someone of your conviction you spend far too much time worrying about who rules the Earthly world if China take over what does it matter? If China or Russia attacks right now and takes over you would lie down like a sheep to the slaughter you would turn no hand against them. So they will soon take over one way or another and you will do nothing, so why worry about it so much?
Again if a person ask you to please leave them be in peace is it not you duty to leave them in peace?
Please leave me so as to continue such harassment knowing my feelings would be spiteful and unwelcome both not traits a true follower of Christ.

ROTB, i dont know how i got pinged to that comment, but I'll give my .02...

all of the scripture you cataloged there is good...problem is that in this Republic, the *ruler* or the *place of power/authority* lies in the people as a whole, and the contract [Constitution] was designed to protect the people from the whims of all evil men...including those seemingly *elected* by a popular vote...

the Rights codified therein are merely, imo, an extension of Divine Law, as the commands to 'Love God and thy neighbors' were the Lords own distillation of the 10 commandments, I see no conflict in the Bill of Rights with that, merely a reinforcement of that...

oh, you say that the 'vote' means we have delegated our Power to those who would rule us, and therefore we cant mock or defy bambam ??? sorry, but those Rights and the Constitution are derived from God himself, and we dont have the authority to give them away...and in the same sense, if we *could*, it would have to be done by "legally" changing the contract, which is NOT the agenda of the progcomms, presumably because they dont have the votes yet ???

in the meantime, FUBO and the wookie he rode in on...

Thank you for responding eloquently.

Indeed, this thread is older than some of the cheese in my fridge. You were pinged because you posted to this thread a long time ago.

Here it is: http://freerepublic.com/focus/bloggers/2492995/posts?page=101#101

True, I agree with your claim that the Constitution is there to protect us from tyranny of a few evil men, even if elected by the people. If I remember my 8th grade civics, in theory it protects us through “checks and balances” between the branches of government.

You claim that the “Rights” codified in the contract ( the Constitution ) are in your opinion, an extension of Divine Law. You further claim that the 2nd amendment does not conflict with Divine Law. I don’t know.

The problem we have in the USA right now, is the following:

H = Holiness Of The Church
V = Violence and depravity in the surrounding culture
S = Sanity needed to handle the 2nd amendment

H - V = S

Holiness Of The Church - Violence and depravity in the surrounding culture = Sanity needed to handle the 2nd amendment

We don’t have enough “S”, a.k.a. Sanity needed to handle the 2nd amendment, without random shootings that happen often enough for the nation to desire stricter gun control.

If you are also a Christian, based on the Old and New Testament verses I cited, we are to ...

1) love
2) forgive
3) pray for
4) not curse

... our government, Obama, and the Democrats.

If you’re not a Christian, do what you want.

If you are a Christian, do what you want, but I recommend you stop disobeying Christ.

You said:

>oh, you say that the ‘vote’ means we have delegated our Power to those who would rule us,
>and therefore we cant mock or defy bambam ???

No. I am saying that our “vote” was divinely ordained by God to put ...

1) President Obama
2) Democratic controlled Senate
3) The Supreme Court

... into place over us, given Daniel 4:25 and Romans 13:1.

If we want them to become “born again Christians” where God miracles them into the Kingdom, and they love righteousness, and hate tyranny, we need to ...

1) never stop striving to be perfect in God’s eyes, according to God’s standards
2) pray for them
3) share the faith
4) repeat

Otherwise, Civil War 2 will make invasion by China/Russia/friends MUCH easier. We’d be finished as a nation.

>sorry, but those Rights and the Constitution are derived from God himself

When American “Christians” ignore clear scripture, in that they think ...

1) 1 Peter 4:17 - “judgement begins at the house of God” does not apply to them
2) and cursing and hating our leaders, divorce, porn, homosexuality, no sharing the faith, violence, are all OK with Jesus, despite obvious scripture
3) since “Christians” have believed the lie of “Eternal Security” no matter their sins, against the counsel of Acts 26:20 and http://eternalsecurity.us/

... then all bets are off, and we deserve tyranny at best, and destruction at worst.

“Man will ultimately be governed by God or by tyrants.”
- Benjamin Franklin

I’ll give you that we have tyrants, but we as Christians have not repented, we’re ready to kill government agents coming for our guns, and we have not prayed for Obama or the Democrats.

This is a short list of sin among USA Christians:

1) Porn among Christians is a gigantic problem. http://www.crosswalk.com/church/pastors-or-leadership/how-many-porn-addicts-are-in-your-church-1336107.html

2) 2% of all Christians share their faith according to LivingWaters.com

3) The Christian divorce rate

4) Christians running after money

... I could go on and on, but you get the idea. There is no holiness in the USA church, and just like in Old Testament days, God is raising up China/Russia/friends to destroy us.

thanks for your efforts to edify with Scripture, and call Gods people to repentence...that is much needed indeed... my pastor would be appreciative as well...

however i still am not convinced that the Lord requires us all to be slaughtered sheep...therefore i disagree with your premise of...

"No. I am saying that our “vote” was divinely ordained by God to put ... 1) President Obama

2) Democratic controlled Senate

3) The Supreme Court

... into place over us, given Daniel 4:25 and Romans 13:1."

unless by 'over us' you mean in a Constitutional manner...because unless bound by that contract, bambam has no authority or title to be respected or submissive...

in the 4 Gospels, Peter isnt scolded for lopping off the ear of 'the lawful authority' or even genrally for violence against another human being...hes scolded for trying to alter the Fathers Plan...

if not for righteous resistance to unGodly men, Christianity wouldve been eradicated from this earth 2000 yrs ago...

different parts of the body serve different functions...the hands and feet are indeed deadly...

however i still am not convinced that the Lord requires us all to be slaughtered sheep...

As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
Romans 8:36-37

[President Obama] has no authority or title to be respected or submissive...

It's a tough cookie to be excited about dying for a just cause "like a sheep", but Scripture calls us "more than conquerors" when we do so.

Beyond the verses I already cited in post #120, what about Paul's Godly urging for the Corinthians to "take wrong" ...

Now therefore there is utterly a fault among you, because ye go to law one with another. Why do ye not rather take wrong? why do ye not rather [suffer yourselves to] be defrauded?
I CORINTHIANS 6:7

... and just in case you are a "Jesus Only" Christian, here it is from the lips of the Master ...

But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.
MATTHEW 5:39

... and will God not avenge us, or even protect us, if we look to God with faith?

Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but [rather] give place unto wrath:for it is written, Vengeance [is] mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.
ROMANS 12:19

How does "avenge not yourselves" turn into picking up guns and shooting government agents who come for them?

in the 4 Gospels, Peter isn't scolded for lopping off the ear of 'the lawful authority' or even generally for violence against another human being...he's scolded for trying to alter the Fathers Plan...

There are two verses that cover this moment in history ...

Then said Jesus unto Peter, Put up thy sword into the sheath: the cup which my Father hath given me, shall I not drink it?
JOHN 18:11

Then said Jesus unto him, Put up again thy sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword.
MATTHEW 26:52

Let's look more closely at two classic commentaries. I'm going to add underlining to highlight where the authors agree with what I am presenting:
Looking at the Matthew Henry Commentary for John 18:1-12 we read ... We must here acknowledge Peter’s good-will; he had an honest zeal for his Master, though now misguided ... Yet we must acknowledge Peter’s ill conduct; and, though his good intention did excuse, yet it would not justify him. [1.] He had no warrant from his Master for what he did. Christ’s soldiers must wait the word of command, and not outrun it; before they expose themselves to sufferings, they must see to it, not only that their cause be good, but their call clear. [2.] He transgressed the duty of his place, and resisted the powers that were, which Christ had never countenanced, but forbidden (Mt. 5:39): that you resist not evil [3.] He opposed his Master’s sufferings, and, notwithstanding the rebuke he had for it once, is ready to repeat, Master, spare thyself; suffering be far from thee; though Christ had told him that he must and would suffer, and that his hour was now come. Thus, while he seemed to fight for Christ, he fought against him ...

Looking at the Jamieson Fausset & Brown Commentary for for John 18:1-13 we read ... --that is, 'Those who take the sword must run all the risks of human warfare; but Mine is a warfare whose weapons, as they are not carnal, are attended with no such hazards, but carry certain victory.' ... for "the Son of man came not to destroy men's lives, but to save them" ( Luk 9:56 )

I don't see how Peter was only "scolded for trying to alter the Fathers Plan". Perhaps you only remembered John 18:11, and forgot about Matthew 26:52.

if not for righteous resistance to unGodly men, Christianity wouldve been eradicated from this earth 2000 yrs ago...

With respect, you're not God, you don't know that. Furthermore, you contradict Scripture when you say that ...

And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
Matthew 16:18

you know yer chapters and verses...but when a gangbanger [evil] kicks down yer door and begins trying to rape and murder yer children, do you just stand and watch under the 'resist no evil' verse ???

i doubt it, as theres plenty of Scripture to support sustaining and prolonging the the body, as its made in Gods image...

By the grace of the LORD, he gives me dreams to warn me of car accidents, the death of family and friends, and I have been graced with maturity and faith to come against those dreams in binding prayer, and they don't happen. Re-read Matthew 1-2 if you want a reminder of the 5 dreams the LORD sent to believers to warn and inform them.

By the LORD's grace, if I continue to strive to follow in his footsteps, He will continue to take care of me.

You know, you should spend more time in the Bible, so you can present a solid case to yourself, and then perhaps me and my ilk, of why you have standing before God to defend your life with deadly force in this New Covenant.

Not because you owe me anything: You don’t owe me anything. Not even a reply to this post. We agreed to disagree.

But for the sake of your eternal destiny and soul, you should be able to chain together verses of scripture, which has no contradictions per John 10:35, to be assured that you’re making the correct decision.

We only have one chance to live right, and then we are judged per Hebrews 9:27.

Putting 20 hours into studying into this matter further, until you hit a bedrock of unassailable truth, would be an extremely valuable use of your time for you, and those you influence with your life, words, and actions.

Have a great day.

I and everyone else would do well to spend more time in the Bible...Ive been trying to do so again, and its tough to do sometimes...

I have read cover to cover, and much beyond, but am no scholar or theologian, and have no capacity today for stringing together chapters or verses to argue a point...

many different Bibles and scholars have done this legwork already, and i still cant follow the strings all the time, even with their footnotes, as i am more inclined to keep focused on the entirety of a selection, and get distracted when i bounce around the books...

that said, I can reassure you that i am convicted of Spirit and as i posted upthread, truly *know* that we are of the same body, but are indeed differing parts of it, which have different tasks and motivations...

Gods Glory is for Himself, and we can neither add to, nor subtract from, His purposes and plans...

that said, my call to Jesus came from hearing Luke 22:36 and the surrounding text...

the Spirit doesnt force me away from a conviction that self defense is allowable in the temporal...for you, maybe so, as there are many tools for His Glory, and as each part of the body has a role to play, we are incapable of *reasoning* the necessity of the other multiple parts, and i believe you when you say that the Lord warns and detours you from conflict, as He does speak to us all thru whatever means He chooses...

just like this 3 yr old thread has been *resurrected* at a time when i needed a motivation to discuss things of God/Scripture, there have been many things lately, publically and personally, that also speak to me and help giude my decisions...

but as stated, i *know* that the potential for using physical violence must be available to [some] of us, or we would have been exterminated long ago...maybe that wouldve been for the better, maybe not, as again, i can NOT alter the Plan...

have a Blessed day...

Old Covenant, Old Testament which is gone
Someone has not been reading one’s Bible. The new covenant is a renewal of the old, not something utterly new and contradictory to the old. God does not change (Malachi 3:6) and Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever (Hebrews 13:8). Why would Jesus’s apostles preach that the love of God is keeping God’s commandments (1 John 5:3, echoing John 14:15 where Jesus says it Himself)? Never mind the fact that that the New Testament directly quotes the Old well over 300 times, and that the Old Testament has truckloads of end time prophecy that was nowhere near fulfillment at Jesus’ time never mind before—in particular, Daniel’s prophecy is said to be sealed until the time of the end, which was not Jesus’ time and certainly not the time when John received the Revelation from Jesus.

>>Old Covenant, Old Testament which is gone

>The new covenant is a renewal of the old, not something
>utterly new and contradictory to the old.

You forgot about this ...

HEBREWS 8:13
13 In that he saith, A new [covenant], he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old [is] ready to vanish away.

... just as I neglected to mention what I said in light of this ...

II TIMOTHY 3:16
16 All scripture [is] given by inspiration of God, and [is] profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

... and though the New Covenant is “not something utterly new and contradictory to the old”, neither is it only a repackaging old ...

MATTHEW 13:35
35 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, I will open my mouth in parables; I will utter things which have been kept secret from the foundation of the world.

Have a great day.

Remember a covenant and a law are separate things. God had to scrap the old covenant because Israel broke it, and that could only happen through the death of God in the flesh (Heb 9:16). The new covenant most definitely includes the eternal things, such as the law. Jesus Himself said the Scripture cannot be broken (John 10:35).
