Thomas Sowell had an interesting piece in NRO last week where he wrote: "The passage of the legislation allowing the federal government to take control of the medical-care system of the United States, a major turning point has been reached in the dismantling of the values and institutions of America." Are we too late, is there still time to take back our country and return to her constitutional origins? Henry Blackaby, author of the 7 million best seller a "Purpose driven life" was a guest preacher at our local church today and expressed a somewhat political message. Religious leaders in Jesus' day did not recognize the "signs of the times" prophecied in Old Testiment Scripture in regards to the manner of coming and identification of the Messiah. Are we today guilty of the same? Are we now under God's retribution and judgement for our ever accelerating removal of God from our laws and public institutions.....

“Are we at the point of no return?”
The marxists are...
Well, Obama sure does not work for Jesus.
With citizenry like that, no election results are likely to make substantial gains to give us back the country we have lost.
Politics by other means is the only way. We're at that point. By the way, the government is cracking down on militias in MI and seizing guns in Oregon. And the heath care bill (oddly enough) allows Obama to raise a private domestic army. The government is getting ready for the fight. They know it's coming.
Not impossible, just nearly.
Yes, we are. People are not going to choose to vote away their entitlements, now that they have them. There will be no salvation from this socialist enslavement now until the entire system utterly collapses and the survivors start to rebuild.
We have been on the road to Socialism since 1933 and no one in DC since then has applied the brakes or attempted to change course as they continue to pass additional government programs year after year.
Blackaby wrote “Experiencing God”. “The Purpose Driven Life” is by Rick Warren. (Between the two, I would put much more stock in what Blackaby has to say than what Warren says.)
The question is what can we do? The majority has learned that they can tax the minority.
I am half thinking that the best solution is to make the problem worse. If we all go John Galt and take advantage of as many government freebies (and demand more) as we can, it will hasten the collapse. Then we want to be in a position, at the State level to start over again.
The longer this drags out the worse it will be.

Are we at the point of no return?
I would say so - the ‘rats are in command and we are hopelessly split on the Right.
Our families came here because their homelands stifled their freedom and mobility. When they came the USA offered them that freedom and mobility. If the USA shuts that down then I will seek it elsewhere.
I'd rather get old and die in a country where they don't speak my language but that lets me live the way I want than in a country that has stolen all that I value.
The difference between socialism and communism is the voting process. This is communism.
Does the author of that drivel really think FR is a blog?
I pity the fool.
“Are we at the point of no return’’? Never. Not as long as there is The Second Amendment.
That has essentially been my position for quite some time. I often tell my circle of friends and acquaintances that one of the reasons I engage in prepping is to help lay the foundation for the country that will emerge after this one collapses.
