Robert Duvall has always been one of my favorite actors. His performance in The Apostle was awesome. I like him even more since he is protesting this administration's asinine decision to put terrorist on trial in civilian court.

Two names I'm surprised I don't see on here are Gary Sinise and Steve Buscemi...especially Buscemi...

"In the early '80s Buscemi also served as a firefighter for four years on FDNY Engine 55...The day after the September 11, 2001 attacks, Buscemi went to his old firehouse to volunteer for recovery work at Ground Zero. That week, he worked 12 hour shifts digging through the rubble, while refusing to do interviews or have his picture taken."

Duval’s dad was a US Navy Admiral. Duaval himself served in Korea, I believe.

Dennehy, on the hand, was a Vietnam Era Marine who a few years ago had minor “skirmish with the truth” about his service “in Vietman.” He said he served “in Vietnam” but was actually assigned to a unit in Okinawa in an administrative billet.

Thanks for the info. A guy can’t help where Uncle Sam sends him. No one should be ashamed of where they served as long as they served honorably.

Directed by an Australian with a loving approach to Americana (he later did ‘Driving Miss Daisy’).
