Senators have to find a balance between voting their conscience and voting as their constituents would like. If senators vote their conscience too heavily, constituents tend to get angry. When this happens, constituents may ask for a recall of their U.S. Senator.
(The 5 steps are listed in detail)

The 18 states allowing for recall are as follows: Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Georgia, Idaho, Kansas, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, Nevada, New Jersey, North Dakota, Oregon, Rhode Island, Washington and Wisconsin.

Could we change the balance in the Senate with an action like this before 2010?
“The 18 states allowing for recall are as follows: Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Georgia, Idaho, Kansas, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, Nevada, New Jersey, North Dakota, Oregon, Rhode Island, Washington and Wisconsin.”
AK - Hell yeah. That was a total scam by the Dems. This may be the best bet.
AZ - can we recall Juan McCain now?
CO - probably not
Louisiana - lets start now and get that fat little bitch out now.
MT- Any Dems up there we can dump?
NV - yup time to remove Hairy Reid for this atrocity.
ND- time to dump Dorgan.
Those are probably the best best. I think LA and AK are really possibilities. AK was a total fraud where they indicted Ted Stevens then dropped the charges. Stevens should have retired earlier.
I don’t know how successful it would be but it might make some of them nervous enough to think before they screw Americans. Its kind of like forcing them into an election year.
Most Senators (more than 60% of them) have no conscience.
Jan 19 is another chance to send the RATS a message. It's the special election to replace Ted Kennedy. Imagine if the voters are so mad the RATS lose the seat in MASSACHUSETTS? It would not only strip them of the critical 60th vote but truly terrorize the Rats and Rino's.
Of course a win would be absolutely unprecedented but then again with 17% real unemployment , the Country hugely in debt and a power hungry congress intent on ignoring the People I think we have a chance. The real problem is putting an end to "the fix". They WILL try and steal it.
If you live in Mass. volunteer to be an election judge and get to know election law. Work in a RAT district . They probably don't have many Republicans there. Learn how elections are stolen and what to look for. Pulling out a win in this hornets nest of commies would be just the thing to save America.

Only if your copy of the US Constitution differs from mine.
The Left tried this with my Congressman in the Michigan 7th years ago. The decision at that point was that the US Constitution does not allow for recall of Congressmen.
Yep
Baucus and Tester.
Each House may determine the rules of its proceedings, punish its members for disorderly behavior, and, with the concurrence of two thirds, expel a member.
Recall isn't an option.
I don’t know if this is bogus or not BUT if you can indeed do this I think the Begich in Alaska would be the most vulnerable followed by democrats from Montana and Louisiana. Begich would be a slam dunk though.
You may be correct, my reading of the Constitution states Impeachment. Is that equal to the term Recall?
I am not arguing the point, am not an attorney. But I do know that Recall proceedings have been brought within states for members of Congress.
Have read that no member of Congress has ever been Recalled.
Respectfully,
TF
I think I know someone who could lead the charge in AK.
I believe that MT is as blue as any state, though it has only reccently been polluted.
I would work on NV. You probably could run a self-proclaimed child molester against Reid and I don’t know that it would be a clear cut choice who had the edge.
Looks like I did not examine this close enough before posting. But it brings another point up.
In NY 23 if Hoffman is actually certified as the winner what will be the outcome. Pelosi has already seated his opponent and he voted in the Healthcare Vote.
Will the Congress remove him if he looses.
Dems have run fast and loose with the Constitution for a long long time.
Among the states listed, anyone care to name the best target?
Arlen Specter.

What Is the History of Recall Elections?

By Joshua Spivak
Mr. Spivak is an attorney in New York, and received a Master’s in History from Brooklyn College. His Master’s thesis explored the history of the recall.
I intend to compare his discussion of this subject to my copy of:
“Notes of debates in the Federal Convention of 1787 reported by James Madison.”
The Notes are referenced in the article.
