Q: Doctor, I've heard that cardiovascular exercise can prolong life. Is this true? A: Heart only good for so many beats, and that it... Don't waste on exercise. Everything wear out eventually. Speed up heart not make live longer; that like say you can extend life of car by driving faster. Want live longer? Take nap.

Q: Should I cut down on meat and eat more fruits and vegetables? A: You must grasp logistical efficiencies. What does cow eat? Hay and corn. What are these? Vegetables. So, steak nothing more than efficient mechanism of delivering vegetables to system. Need grain? Eat chicken. Beef also good source of field grass (green leafy vegetable). And pork chop give 100% recommended daily allowance of vegetable products.

If this doctor(sic)’s medical knowledge is anything like his grammar skills, I would suggest doing the opposite of his advice.

Bill Cosby’s-—’Chocolate cake’....

” Eggs are in chocolate cake! And milk! Oh goody! And wheat! That’s nutrition! “What do you want?” “Can I have some chocolate cake?” “Chocolate cake coming up.” [imitates slicing sound] Sliced it for her and served it. “Now, you need something to drink with the chocolate cake, something breakfast... grapefruit juice!” [Woman in audience] No-o-o! [Cosby] This is not your child! So I give the child a glass of grapefruit juice and chocolate cake -— nutrition. Eggs, milk, and wheat in the chocolate cake. And... I didn’t have to cook. “

I am starting to believe the thing about exercise. I ran 5 miles a day for nearly 10 years, and my body is a worn out hulk now. Every joint seems to be giving me problems now.

I believe there are a finate number of movements every body part can do. Waste them on the latest exercise video, and one day you will be having to pay someone to tie your shoes and clean your backside.

Walk for exercise.
Eat meat for nutrition.
If your food doesn’t remember where it came from, it’s probably no good for you. Shop the outer aisles of the grocery store.

I became a fitness trainer because I couldn’t afford a fitness trainer! :-D Also because I’m in my fifties and want to go into older age with a strong, healthy body.

I found in the course of my study, and now in the two years that I have been training, that the majority of people who have body and joint problems, even though they’ve been exercising for a long time, is that they do not follow proper procedure. I know that I was able to correct quite a few “normal aging” problems in myself and others because I understand the proper techniques, I know how to adjust sets/reps, when and how to rest, which exercises to avoid, which to use most, and how to run correctly. Shoe arch has saved more than one of my clients’ knees (including a track runner I train who is going to the Olympics).

May I suggest seeing a CERTIFIED personal trainer? I know I didn’t believe they could make a major difference until I became one myself.

“...I believe there are a finate number of movements every body part can do...”

A finite number of BAD movements, perhaps. Running doesn’t have to be damaging, but it easily can be.

I agree — especially when it comes to the cartilage that lines your joints. That stuff doesn’t grow back. Once you’ve worn it away, it’s gone, and you’re screwed.

Ride a bicycle for exercise. Riding has rejuvenated my knees and a lower disk problem after years of damage from running/football. I went from barely able to walk to more than 3k miles per year.

Well I enjoy running too and now I have reached the 50. Fortunately I don’t have issues and I think its related to that i dont run every day nor run too fast or any great distance. Just so I get in 30 minutes every other day or so.
Sometimes I switch to swimming for cardiovascular. Hate treadmills but if no other choice will do it. Do enjoy running but definitely not into marathon running of any kind.

I learned a long time ago to never take medical advice from someone who communicates like a cave man.

He cracked me up.

I printed his advise, titled it, “Grocery Shopping Guide”, and taped it to our refrigerator.

I will wait with anticipation for my wife’s reaction.

She will probably punish me by serving extra portions of the vile, disgustingly evil weed, Broccoli.

2 other items highly worth mentioning:

1.) Strength training helps to alleviate joint pain, and

2.) Chiropractic adjustments - there is simply no substitute for having the spine properly aligned. It affects all the physical motions, but also injury repairs and anything related to aging.

Heyyy...I like this guy, and Bill Cosby, too. It sorta reminds me of how I view a Big Mac. It has many food groups. Ya have your meat (the burger), your veggies (the lettuce and pickle), it has your grain (the bun)....so how can this be bad for you? Its healthy food..lol
