Former Vice-President Dick Chenneys comment accusing the Obama Administration of dithering on the decision whether to send more troops to Afghanistan drew sharp rebukes from key Democrats.
Administration Press Secretary, Robert Gibbs dismissed Chenneys comments as off-base. Where Mr. Chenney sees dithering, the reality is that we are pursuing a conscious policy of aggressive equivocation, Gibbs said. The aim is to keep Americas enemies off-balance. Not knowing whether more US troops are on the way will undermine their planning.
Defense Secretary Robert Gates echoed Gibbs take on the issue, explaining that postponing a decision on deployment throws a monkey wrench into the al-Qaeda machinery. They dont know whether it will be weeks, months, years, or never before more US troops hit the battlefield. The blow to their morale is substantial.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif) called Chenneys remarks undignified. To publicly criticize the President when the nation is at war can only embolden our enemies, she declared. Besides, Mr. Chenney is overlooking the strategic value of ambiguity. Keeping our adversaries guessing preserves the element of surprise for whatever action is ultimately taken.
In related news, Gates refused to consider negotiations with Japan for the withdrawal of US troops that have been stationed in that country since the end of World War II. I hope I dont have to remind too many people that less than 70 years ago, Japan launched an unprovoked attack on the United States, Gates said. This isnt the time for us to be letting down our guard.

I thought it was a legit article until I got the ping from you.
Nice one
Good one! Pretty much sums up Obama's foreign policy.
“pursuing a conscious policy of aggressive equivocation
Uh, is this real ? Uhhhh, does anyone have the Record of Success of this kind of Uhhhh...Policy ?
Are Guns Involved ?
They didn’t say “Strategy” did they ? Yo, “O”, Your Homies in the Chicago Hood have a better “Policy” towards Terrorist than you do.
People who don’t see the “satire” tag in 3... 2... 1...
(but the fact it is believable is the real story).
My prediction gift is pretty awesome! ;)
Thanks for the coffee nose flush John.
“aggressive equivocation”
I like that. I think I can use that at work in my reports.
Big hairy deal.
“Defense Secretary Robert Gates echoed Gibbs take on the issue, explaining that postponing a decision on deployment throws a monkey wrench into the al-Qaeda machinery. They dont know whether it will be weeks, months, years, or never before more US troops hit the battlefield. The blow to their morale is substantial.
The funniest thing I’ve read in a very long time. Kudos!
ROFLMAO John. Good one.
LOL! Some of your best work. ;o)
This is hilarious, but I don't think it can be considered satire, any more than calling Obama a Communist could be considered an "exaggeration".
What a classic piece of spin. Took a while for these mind readers to come up with this BS. America is done. Al-Qaeda is laughing at these clowns.
Strategery...LOL!
70 years ago... and darn it, I can remember it!
Thanks for the laughs!
Bravo and thanks.
[satire alert regarding article]
Regarding Cheney critizing Zero’s war strategy, let us never forget Al Gore: “He BETRAYED this country! He PLAYED ... ON ... OUR ... FEARS!”
