Prayers Needed (Total Vanity) Lost Kitty
Vanity ^ | 07/22/09 | Erkyl

Posted on 07/22/2009 9:26:00 AM PDT by erkyl

We need some prayer warriors for our daughter's lost kitty. I know this is a trivial matter in the grand scheme of things these days, but my 16 year old daughter has lost so much at her young age. At 8, a close neighborhood friend died suddenly. She always wanted a dog, so we got her a dog for her 9th birthday. The dog had to be put down at Christmas, 06. Then, in March of 07, one of her friends committed suicide. We got her this kitty in May of 07 on her 14th birthday, to help her grieve through losing the dog and her friend. If she loses this kitty, too, it will just be too much!

We haven't seen him for two days. Please pray for us to find him.

Thanks fellow FReepers.

No it’s not silly! I lost mine for 9 days and it was a nightmare for us. Inside cat, absolute baby at 19lbs., solid black male and lost on Halloween.

Go to http://www.catsinthebag.org/ for a plan on getting the cat back. You have to be active in the search.

Yes, I got mine back. I also said a 9 day novena.

Prayers offered now. This is a tough age for a young girl.

I'm not sure what kind of area you live in, but if you're in a suburban area I'd suggest going around the neighborhood and seeing if it got into someone's garage and they closed the door without knowing it was inside. When I was a kid our family cat was lost for several days under these circumstances.

Are there wild animals out and about in your area? I'm thinking of coyotes in particular.

Absolutely.

Also, make sure to focus your search very close to your property. More often than not, lost cats stay as close to their home as possible. For fear of giving away their position to predators they are less likely to meow or reveal themselves in response to calls. Look very carefully in the nooks and crannies and spaces around your property.

Don't give up hope. We recently brought in a cat that I'd seen around our house for years. It was in bad shape. Long story short: We found the owner a few houses away thanks to a microchip in the animal. The cat had been missing for over 4 and 1/2 years! The owners were shocked, thrilled and very emotional when we returned their beloved cat, long since thought dead and gone.

We are in the suburbs, and I’ve walked the neighborhood several times calling him and listening at garage doors. We have a creek behind our house where he likes to play, and yes, I have seen a young coyote out there once. That’s my greatest fear, but he is a pretty tough kitty...ornery, some might call him.

He’s disappeared for a few days before, but never for this long. We are all definitely worried. Signs are going up and he’s already posted on the local shelter websites. Now, we need angels all around. Thanks for the prayers everyone.

Large posters on telephone poles, flyers, etc. Someone may have thought the cat was a stray and taken it inside their home.

Prayers for the safe return of your kitty and for your daughter. Been through this a few times, and it’s so hard, but I agree with the poster who said to be proactive. Putting flyers up is helpful. Best of luck in finding him!

Lost kitties are no laughing matter. My cat went missing for two days last month and I didn’t sleep until a local vet called to say that someone found him and brouht him in to be vaccinated and checked out. They were going to keep him! He’s a $1500 Bengal so I grudgingly had him microchipped as a kitten. I am so glad I did. I didn’t even like cats when I bought him and his sister for my kids. Now, I fuss over that cat like he’s a baby. It’s pathetic!

Not only will I pray about your kitty but also for strength and perservence in the face of so much tragedy at 16.

Blessings.

"We haven't seen him for two days."

Check garages in the area - she might have gotten curious and became stuck when the door closed.
Lost my Calico for three days - a neighbor said she heard crying from her garage loft - I went up and found her under floor boards - scared, dusty, and hungry.
I'll pray that you find him soon.

Neighbor girl down the street from me (like 3 houses down) has a little kitty. Last summer the kitty showed up at our house just purring and rubbing on my wife. My wife of course lets him.

Cat stuck around my property for three days until this little girl knocks on the front door and says “have you seen my kitty?”. I said “probably” and went out to the back yard and got the cat. “Is this your kitty?” “Pepper! I missed you!” Kitty pretty much jumped into the little girls arms.

Point is that friendly kitties will sometimes hang out at a friendly neighbor for days, but they still miss their rightful owner too.

Knock on some doors, you might find your kitty.
