The Obama Administrations proposal to restrict the deductions from income taxes for charitable donations is said to have been inspired by research conducted by Arthur Brooks, a professor at Syracuse University, and published in his book Who Really Cares: The Surprising Truth About Compassionate Conservatism. The basic finding of the research is that hard-hearted conservatives donate more to charity than bleeding-heart liberals.
The very fact that so-called conservatives donate more should be enough to raise anyones suspicions about the equity of allowing these tax deductions, said White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel. I mean, when have these people every placed the well-being of others ahead of themselves.
When you think about it, tax deductions for charitable giving are an anarchic method of distributing the nations wealth, Emanuel continued. By changing the tax code we will be reducing the scope of personal giving and ensuring that more of each taxpayers income flows to the government. That way we can achieve a more controlled and better organized distribution of the nations bounty.

In any other time, under any other circumstances, such an utterance would be a one-way ticket to the loony bin.
If you give more you should be punished as inequitable? Up is down, white is black, dogs and cats...
You need to identify your threads as being parodies. I about had a stroke.
Me too. The thing about good comedy is the nugget of truth that it contains. In this case, maybe a boulder of truth.
Satire... the quotes were very believable coming from Dead Fish Emanuel!

John always lays it out.
The sad part is how difficult it is to separate satire from what is really said. I give Chrissy Mathews as my “Exhibit A”.
Damn, John, I let my guard down and you gotcha’ed me. You are too good at this.
Well, asshat, the nation's wealth doesn't belong to the government, and therefor isn't yours to decide who to distribute it to. Someone needs to start poking these idiots in the eye with a sharp stick every time they make their wealth distribution spiel.
It is so sad that I thought this was real.
There is MORE than a “grain of truth” here — this is how these people think.
But I admit being had ;)
