When I went to the supermarket recently I was surprised to see in small print that the beef was "Product of U.S.A., Mexico and Canada," and the pork said "Product of U.S.A. or Canada," but it didn't say which country.
While I buy nonfood items from Mexico, I don't buy produce because people have become sick or even died from their produce, probably because of the water. Now the cows drink the same water, so why would I want to buy beef produced in Mexico.
I believe all our pork comes for Washington, DC
I saw the same info on my pork chops today
LOL! ; ~ )
“I believe all our pork comes for Washington, DC”
TONS and TONS of it!
Search Craigs list and buy a 1/2 cow or pig from a local farmer. Cheaper and better for you and the local economy.
“I saw the same info on my pork chops today”
It seems they should tell us which country. I felt they were being sneaky to list 2 or 3 countries, and it was in small letters. In fact, I didn’t even notice that I purchased some a couple of weeks ago.

GREAT idea!
My thought exactly.
HyVee stores post where their produce and meat comes from- an exception was yesterday I had to ask about a trout filet- was shown the fine print off to the side that said it was Canadian farmed rainbow trout.Everything else was labeled.
I had occasion to be in the store today and there was the sign in front of it like everything else. They label where their produce comes from also.

I noticed the same thing. Beef coming from USA, Mexico and Canada. That’s a mighty big cow! I didn’t buy any. I hate that they won’t tell us straight out where our food is coming from.
Interesting... is that like sponsoring a cow until it's time for buchering, or does the sponsor have to literally take one half of the cow, after slaughter?
I was going to offer the same advice.
I wish I had HyVee stores in my area.
Did you tell the store that you don’t like it?
“I hate that they wont tell us straight out where our food is coming from.”
As with so many things these days, it appears that they know what is better for us and our families.
Thanx for that great link in post #15!
I can’t wait to see if there’s a Farmer’s Market that sells meat in my area. I’m willing to drive a distance and stock up.
