I'll be sure to call the supermarket and tell them I want to KNOW for sure where the beef and pork are from, and I will only buy from the U.S.A. I guess I'll have to go to a meat market (not that near me) for my meat, unless the market changes their labeling.

Search Craigs list and buy a 1/2 cow or pig from a local farmer. Cheaper and better for you and the local economy.

HyVee stores post where their produce and meat comes from- an exception was yesterday I had to ask about a trout filet- was shown the fine print off to the side that said it was Canadian farmed rainbow trout.Everything else was labeled.

I had occasion to be in the store today and there was the sign in front of it like everything else. They label where their produce comes from also.

I noticed the same thing. Beef coming from USA, Mexico and Canada. That’s a mighty big cow! I didn’t buy any. I hate that they won’t tell us straight out where our food is coming from.

Before you buy beef again, read “The Omnivore’s Dilemma” by Michael Pollan. You’ll be saving up and eating less beef just so you can afford good grass-fed beef from clean farms and careful slaughter. We are what we eat, and a lot of cattle production is sincerely ghastly for our heath.

I stopped buying beef here in Califronia.

On the Albertsons labels it now says Canada, Mexico and New Zealand.

We need to expand irradiating meat. Would prevent a lot of food poisoning.

“Now the cows drink the same water, so why would I want to buy beef produced in Mexico.”

That’s why they don’t want to tell you where it’s from...they might not be able to sell the stuff.
