The TV, internet, news papers...will be inundated with the likeness of Dear Leader. I won't watch or listen to one of the worst moments in our nations history since 9/11.
I may go to the Zoo...what about you?
That "New Deal, Raw Deal" book looked pretty good. I just ordered it and it should arrive just in time to read before the Obamanation starts.
I like yours.
Mine is something biblical as well, along the lines of weeping and gnashing of teeth.
I have to work that day after being off for MLK day, so I plan to close my door and keep busy. I work at a liberal university, and they plan on having TVs available in some of the classrooms, so I will not be participating in any of that nonsense. Then, when I get home, I will either watch reruns of House on USA network, or any of a host of good shows that I DVR’d over the holidays.
Look up !shalom b'SHEM Yah'shua HaMashiach AdonaiThe L-rd is coming soon.
I bought the complete set of Amos & Andy on DVD. I can’t remember where I bought them, but I think it might have been Amazon. The quality is somewhat fuzzy, but good enough to enjoy.
Just in case bump! ;-)
I’m just going to polish off a half rack and knock the old lady around some, nothing special (she likes it really).
I got an email from my Georgia brother yesterday, trying to get either a black ribbon or black armband movement going.
But, he is our future president & most prominent leader of the free world, and most likely will be for at least the next four years. And the inauguration of a president is a historic event. So, am I being a self-righteous jerk for sitting it out, boycotting it, so to speak?
I mean after all, in ways I hope to understand someday, our leaders are God-ordained, whether or not they're Bruck-ordained. Am I just indulging in the behavior that I've been criticizing others for during the last eight years?
I believe I am a pretty good judge of character, and try to include the facts in my reasoning whenever possible, and I don't like what I see in zero. Pretty much the same negatives I see in zero I saw in Kwame Kilpatrick, former mayor of Detroit (I'm originally from the Detroit area, go Red Wings!). And I felt the same negative emotions, though on a lower level, when KK was elected mayor of Detroit. I had no part in it, as I was a suburbanite, but I was thinking, what's the matter with you people? Can't you see he's incompetent, dishonest, inexperienced, etc. etc. etc.?
I remember Kwame's first state-of-the-city address, which was kind of like an inaugural address, since he was pretty new on the job, a few years ago. It was a pretty good speech, and his purported plans included many of the things I would have recommended for the city. I was thinking, I hope he succeeds. Maybe he's not so bad after all.
Well guess what? Kwame's in jail right now.
I'm going squirrel hunting on inauguration day. It seems like a fitting gesture.
I, too, have wrestled with this. Do I boycott? Do I watch? It is historic. I watched the fall of the towers though it brought great pain. Shall I bite the bullet? I haven’t decided. Since the election, I can’t even look at his smug face or hear his awful voice. I don’t know if I can stand the whole day of both.
I like the armbands idea. But, most will assume it is because of a death in my family and not for the reason intended.
I think I will attend Mass and do an hour of adoration before the true King of Kings, the true Messiah and pray that our nation can survive the punishment of Obama.
Think I’ll work on my taxes. Seems that would be apropos.
Have an Amos and Andy party on the 20th.
“I refuse, under any circumstances, to watch, listen to, read about or otherwise ingest any information regarding the coronation..I turn off the t.v. when his picture comes on, I change radio stations when I hear his voice..”
I thought I was the only one!! Check out this website:

I think I’ll go shopping. One last fling.
How thoughtful!
Thank you for your suggestion.
New Deal or Raw Deal?: How FDRs Economic Legacy Has Damaged America by Burton W. Folsom Jr.
I just watched him on Book TV.
Down a few cold ones, toast a REAL president, and PRAY we can have leadership like his again someday soon
I may drink heavily and freep, but I don’t think I can stand to watch it. More power to you.
Re: Jan. 20: Something Biblical ... I could cry, tear my clothes and put ashes on my head ... but that would make a mess and then I’d have to mend them.
I hope seed catalogs and hatchery catalogs will arrive so I can look forward to spring and summer.
If the kids have a 4-H meeting that night, I will have that to look forward to.
