So you're saying American Motors is back?

Great. I'll take a Gremlin and a bright yellow Pacer!

We'll all be driving little red wagons and carrying an umbrella.

When are the employees going to wise up and vote to get rid of the Union??

The sad part is that I have seen some people here advocate that we nationalize the auto industry..

If the companies take the cash, they would be accountable to the government for nearly every move, and for every transaction of $25 million or more.

This is what happens when you take government money. You get government on your back.

Nationalisation worked sooooo well for British Leyland in the 1970s. Also, look at the wonders that nationalisation worked for Fiat.

“politicians who no nothing about running anything decide they know how to revive a flagging industry;”

Sure, it’s a few more letters, but for a writer to use no when know is the correct word detracts from the message.

I’m seriously thinking of getting rid of my Grand Prix and buying a Toyota Tacoma. Nice looking pick’m up, and affordable at around $15000. Besides, it isn’t made by the United Awful Workers union.

I’ve also heard that GM is going to discontinue it’s Pontiac line anyway.

This is going to fail and the Democrats will just blame Bush for it because he signed onto this crap. I can see the mid-term political ads now: “Thousands of jobs lost because President Bush and the Republicans mismanaged the auto bailout.”

The new Utopiamobile. Faster than a speeding golf cart. Able to go 25 miles on a charge. Holds 2 passengers uncomfotably only $45,000 and built by lazy union workers. I can’t wait.

Congress has already attempted to kill it through their unfunded mandates, etc. The cos. are caught between the unsustainable costs of the unions and those imposed by gov’t, so death is inevitable. It’s just a shame that Congress intends to shovel lots of tax $ into the black hole before the expiration.

Todays auto related words and a fine examples of a Government controlled industry, three autos everyone would die to own and in fact did die for-—spell————”ZIL”

Second word—————”LADA”

Third word————”TRABANT”

HA HA HA we are about to become SOCIALIZED—sure is sweet, dont you-all think?

We are definitely not seeing the beginning of the end. The beginning was what happened in the Great Drpression still driving us toward bankruptcy at an ever increasing clip. In fact, I am afraid that we are very close to the end of capitalism and freedom and our Constitutional Republic. If you had any reservation about ‘trickle down economics’, wait till you experience ‘trickle down dictatorship’

Interesting thought. However, what will Congress do about the Jap, Korean, German and Swede car companies? To force Americans to buy Congressionally made autos it’ll tax the foreign companies to the point they can’t compete.

Once they’re out of the way I’m sure we’ll be able to buy the best and cheapest cars made in America.

Right you are my FRiend. The strangling and destruction of the free enterprise system has begun. It will continue until all property, including people, belong to the State.

On November 4, 2008 a majority of those who claim to be Americans decided and expressed via their votes that they had absolutely no problem with being a State Owned slave.
