Intrade opened up contracts for 2012 recently. Palin is priced at $12, Jindal at $22, which suggests Palin is underpriced compared to her popularity. There is an anti-Palin/Anti-Social Conservative bias at Intrade, so that is probably dampening Palin's price.
Oil/gas experience is all that counts.
Gov Palin didn't name a Supreme Court ruling she couldn't agree with apart from Roe, and so therefore she can't run for president?
Did anyone say she couldn't run? Please show me where.
NEWSFLASH for you... you don't appoint the POTUS. The POTUS is elected by electors who are selected by voters...and voters see this as a woman who can't even list a single newspaper or magazine she reads, or describe a single case with which she disagrees. She should study up so she can fire back with an eloquent shredding of Kelo v. City of New London or, heck, educate folks about Stenberg v. Carhart and tie it into Katie Couric's question and Sen. Obama's platform!
Regardless of whether you think our VP and potential President should be fluent American history and government, many voters do--and it makes her a less effective campaigner.
You are one of the posters who makes me wish we had an ignore button on this forum. Same crap about the Gov cut and pasted to each thread about her. It’s old.
Go to post # 6, and read. it says and I quote
“Sarah cant compete in the big leagues without doing LOTS more homeworkmore than she has time to do between now and 2011, when the race starts.....Please tell your friends who are supporting her to quit!”
That was someone posting that she can't run, even in 2012 right there.
“and voters see this as a woman who can't even list a single newspaper or magazine she reads, or describe a single case with which she disagrees”
What voters are you babbling about, dude?
Your Daily Kos voters pals?
Again, it's been proved over and over again, that Gov Palin reads plenty of magazines and newspapers. In one interview, it turns out she found out about the the decision of the McCain campaign to stop campaigning in Michigan, when she was reading the ew York Times that morning.
And again, not reading the stupid liberal media, and the even more stupd magazines like Time and Newsweek, is if anything a great reason to vote for someone. I cancalled my subscriptions to these brain dead publicans long ago, and have been a heck of a lot better informed since then.
Are these the same voters who are so energized by Gov Plain when she campaigned for Chambliss that they increased voter turn out for him, , leading to Chambliss winning by 14%, instead of the 5.3% that RCP said he was going to win by? Don't confuse voters with Daily Kos vermin and the lame brian media.
*********** Chambliss: ‘Dynamite’ Palin Turned Out the Vote (take note GOP leadership)
“Sarah Palin came in on the last day, did a fly-around and, man, she was dynamite, Chambliss told Fox News on Wednesday. We packed the houses everywhere we went. And it really did allow us to peak and get our base fired up.
...........
I cant overstate the impact she had down here. All these folks did a great job coming in, he said, referring to former presidential candidates Mike Huckabee and Rudy Giuliani. They allow you [to] add momentum to where we were in the campaign. But when she walks in a room, folks just explode.
Voters vote for people that know American history?
Surely you mean Kenyan history. Americans just elected a guy that was probably not even born in this country, a guy who knows so little about American history, he claimed his grandfather ..wait for it.., liberated the Jews at Auschwitz, for crying out loud. Anyone who has even a modicum of knowledge about American history, knows that US troops never liberated anyone at Auschwitz, because US troops were not even in Poland during WWII at all.
But here we have a guy, Obama, who is so clueless about US history, that he lyingly boasted that his grandfather “liberated” Auschwitz, only to be elected as US president. And you think voters vote for guys with a good knowledge of American history? Never heard any voter say that anywhere during these elections.
You are getting pretty desperate in your increasingly pathetic attempts to smear Gov Palin..and it's not working.
Please tell your friends who are supporting her to quit!
***No Freeping Way. If you are basing your knowledge of her based upon the cutup job done by Couric, you haven’t the slightest idea what you’re talking about.
You don’t even understand the nature of futures markets, do you? It’s not what some website in Ireland thinks, numbskull, it’s what people who put their money down think.
WTF, I dont get the gist of this thread.
***Here’s the gist: If you like Sarah as much as you say, and you’d like to make money supporting her, go and put some money down on her contract at Intrade. It’s cheap right now.
Said the very guy that has been making things up about Gov Plain and trying to pass them off as the truth.
Don’t forget the 57 states of the US, and that he was of Moslem faith until Charlie Gibson corrected him so thoughtfully, and a tax cut for 95%, and on & on. Obama would have looked much worse under the cutting floor than Sarah did.
Sarah Palin does not have a perception problem with the media. The MSM reacted in exactly the same way I predicted they would if a conservative were to be nominated: they went into a foaming frenzy and jumped the shark. They gave Sarah much more free publicity by being so biased against her than, say, Biden got. Sarah gets to use that leverage as much as she cares to.
I am not going to can sacrifice the conservative movement to appease social conservatives..
***Hey Buttheadford, this is a social conservative website.
Im a big tent republican.
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1821435/posts?page=6245#6245
Heres an analogy to work with. Take a small box and fill it with some rocks. Then add some rice, filling it to the top. Now take all the same stuff, but in a different order. Put in the rice first, then add the rocks. What youll find is that if you put in the big stuff first, the small stuff will fit around it. But if you put in the small stuff first, the big stuff wont have room. The republican tent is the box. The Big issues are the socon issues, to be put in first. The little issues are things that can be accommodated around the bigger stuff. A candidate who tries to focus on the smaller issues first and leave out the bigger issues has no way of getting all of us into the tent. He splits the party. The candidate who gets the big stuff right and as much of the little stuff that will fit, he can fit more into the tent. Were often amazed at how much rice can keep fitting in. Rudy Giuliani flunks some of the big issues, and on some of the little issues it looks to me like anyone elses rice would do just as well. All that remains for us to agree on is which are the bedrock principles and which are not. Why would there be so much invective aimed at rudy from the right? Because there are some bedrock principles that he is leaving out. Bad move. I see rudybot postings all the time saying that they would vote for Hunter, and I see socon postings that say they would not vote for rudy. Thats a BIG indicator of a few bedrock principles that are being left outside the tent in order to let in some rice.
I think you’d know I meant William Buckley the third who recently resigned from National Review over his column against Sarah Palin.
***The guy is a pure RINO. It’s RINOs that got us into this mess, not social conservatives.
Jindal is more qualified than Palin in EVERY possible way
***Then why wasn’t he on the ticket? There seem to be a few possible ways that you are overlooking.
Those that voted Obama did it purely on emotion and didn’t know that he is bad on all four issues.
***That’s because millions of voters don’t vote on the issues. A few weeks ago, some freeper nailed it when he said that Obama was selling absolution, at the cost of one vote.
I agree. Also a Troll button.
As a side note, I’ve been pushing the concept of an idealogical litmus matrix here on FR, not to get rid of people but so they can’t hide any more and pretend to be conservative when they’re really just RINOs.
Sounds a lot like “community organizer” type of experience to me.
When we were pushing for Hunter we were told he lacked name recognition. Now that there’s a conservative with name recognition, we can see how hollow the critics really are. It’s the tootyfruityrudybots all over again.
I think there’s a solid chance that she gets her info from the internet, and perhaps even she’s a freeper. That wouldn’t have gone over so well on the MSM.
A second venue is the television interview ...
***The third venue is where she’ll smoke all her competitors: the press release. She’ll take questions on the fly, and the MSM can’t edit the responses because it’s live coverage. The only reason she did the interviews was because McCain told her to. McCain is an idiot who coddled the media for an entire career and simply did not understand that they hate conservatives — why didn’t they hate him??? Because he was no conservative, duhhh.
