Welcome to the Police State: 20,000 uniformed troops inside U.S. by 2011

It's for our own good

And it will be an Orwellian Police State, too: Thoughtcrime is already subject to ostracism and vilification, and what with the UN ready to codify it, and Obama signaling that he wants to increase the importance and influence of the UN, how long will it stay out of the U.S.?

And why is this necessary? Primarily "to help state and local officials respond to a nuclear terrorist attack." Of course, to call the Muslim community in America to account and compel it to stop teaching Sharia supremacism and hatred of Jews and Christians -- that would be "bigoted." Of course, to halt Muslim immigration in light of the impossibility of distinguishing peaceful Muslims from actual and potential jihadists -- that would be racist. Of course, even to institute some kind of screening of Muslims who enter the country in order to determine their adherence to Sharia principles and to make agitation for Islamic law (stonings, amputations, no free speech, no freedom of conscience, etc.) in this country grounds for deportation -- that would be "Islamophobic."

So if we can't do all that or even anything close to those things, what is left? What can we do? Why, become a Police State, with armed troops roaming

if a nuke goes off we will have no rights. No rights of travel. No rights of self defense. No rights.

Only if you donj't defend your rights.

The New Orleans police would have been a heck of a lot less enthusiastic if people had been giving them their bullets one at a time.

I guess we can just ignore Posse Comitatus now, right?

20,000 uniformed troops are almost as bad as 60,000,000 uninformed voters.

Doesn’t the Posse Comitatus act prevent this??

Exactly how much power does an "act" have, if the US Constitution no longer has power?

"If they expected me to go door to door, block by block and arrest US citizens...SORRY IT AINT GONNA HAPPEN"

I have to wonder how many members of our military feel as you do. I don't like what I have been seeing for the past ten years or so. Too many actions adding up to a federal government preparing to supress patriotic American citizens for the "protection" of our failed elite political class.

This us Unconstitutional. Only the states have a right to a standing militia (ie National Guard). Some Governor, with cajones, needs to refuse to allow these guys to operate within their state’s borders and force the issue to the SCOTUS

Obama won’t use the military or National Guards for the purposes of disarming the US public, as it could bite him in the butt. He will create his own force, loyal only to him, to do it.

Bwahhhh!
I guess I’ll have to change my target selection from blue helmets to “other” 20,000? Some simple math- half won’t show up. 1/4 will run at the first “banging” noises. So that leaves what? Maybe 5,000 to be dealt with? And there’s a whole lot more of us then them. OK I can deal with these numbers.

“it did not prevent the clintons from running u.s. military tanks over the innocents at waco.”

Those were Mechanized Infantry Combat Vehicles not tanks, not that it made much difference to the people inside.

They were equipment seconded to the civilian law enforcement to comply with the Posse Comitatus Act and I believe Wesley Clark was the guy who made it happen.
