Weekly Gardening Thread --- Memorial Day Weekend
My pea brain | May 23/24, 2008 | Gabz

My apologies to all for the lateness of this post --- it has just been a week from you now where here.

As we all morph into this holiday weekend, I would like to remind you all to take a moment to remember why this is a "holiday" weekend.

Yes, we're all going to enjoy our cookouts and the 3 day weekend (well some have 3 day weekends) but I do ask that each of us take a moment and salute those for whome this weekend remembers.

Enjoy your day off, and the gun show!

My friend Sue is picking me up in about 30 minutes, we’re dropping her Becky off at the bowling alley for a b’day party and then taking Jax to WalMart for a new bathing suit because both girls are going to another b’day party tomorrow, which is a pool party.

By the time we get back I’ll have just enough time to get cleaned up and head for work! No work in the garden for me today.

Sue’s husband thinks he found the problem with the tiller and has gone in search of parts -— he wants us getting corn in the ground as much as we want it in!!!!

My husband, father-in-law and both my brother-in-laws served. Army, Navy and Marines.

My father in law was actually in the Navy in WWII and switched to in the Army just in time for Korea.

I went out to check my cabbage and Brussels sprouts and found little stumps! The peppers and tomatoes are fine.

Any ideas?

My father in law was also in the Navy during WWII, but switched to being a husband and dad just in time to avoid going to Korea.

My dad went into the army in time for Korea, but spent all his time in Texas and Germany.

No clue at all because I won't be putting either in until at leat the end of July.

Could it be rabbits eating your cabbage and Brussels sprouts?

Could be. We have never had rabbits before but that does not mean we can not now.

I will put up some anti-rabbit defenses and see what happens.
