The Mosaic Religious Community has advised its Jewish members against speaking Hebrew loudly on the streets of Oslo or wearing Jewish emblems. The suggestion has infuriated some in the membership.
It comes after a Jewish man wearing a kippah, or yarmulke, was assaulted on an Oslo street Saturday. The Mosaic Religious Community wants its members to be careful.
"We have encouraged our members to avoid speaking Hebrew loudly on the street," Anne Sender of the Jewish organization told newspaper Vårt Land. She also told Norwegian Broadcasting (NRK) that men may want to reconsider wearing the yarmulke.

Another example of Secularists and Muslims in devilish league against authentic religious expression.
It is always the Jews' fault. /sarc
There has been a lot of stories lately about muslim violence in Norway.
I call this everyday terror, and it doesn't only happen to jews.
Lately, muslims gangs have for instance started assaulting gay people.
Off course, they assault anyone who would look at them "the wrong way".
The whole situation is disgraceful.
Earlier this year in an anti-Hamas demonstration in Oslo, some young arab (or Pakistani) punk attacked an elderly woman.
"...it (Muslim violence) doesn't only happen to jews."
Everyone should be a good dhimmi. We don't want to upset the Muslims.
Maybe we should all become thugs so no one attacks us.
Is there a Norwegian Ping list?
franksolich used to run one, but it seems to have gone inactive.
I'd always thought the Norwegians had a fairly brave resistance to the Nazis during WWII (though I think it was actually British commandos who blew up the heavy water plant the Nazis built in Norway). Certainly many Norskies hated Quisling.
Now I'm wondering: What happened? Seems the Danes are more vigorous in confronting (and deporting) these haters.
