In case any dummie lurkers are looking in: Here is the truth about statements made about Iraq WMD, hope they have the courage to read it, and to check the sources for the quotes.

Prominent Democrat Comments on Saddam Hussein and WMD

One way or the other, we are determined to deny Iraq the capacity to develop weapons of mass destruction and the missiles to deliver them. That is our bottom line." - President Clinton, Feb. 4, 1998 CNN, Feb. 4, 1998 http://www.cnn.com/US/9802/04/us.un.iraq/

"If Saddam rejects peace and we have to use force, our purpose is clear. We want to seriously diminish the threat posed by Iraq's weapons of mass destruction program." - President Clinton, Feb. 17, 1998 http://www.cnn.com/ALLPOLITICS/1998/02/17/transcripts/clinton.iraq/

"Iraq is a long way from [here], but what happens there matters a great deal here. For the risks that the leaders of a rogue state will use nuclear, chemical or biological weapons against us or our allies is the greatest security threat we face." - Madeline Albright, Feb 18, 1998

"He will use those weapons of mass destruction again, as he has ten times since 1983." S - Sandy Berger, Clinton National Security Adviser, Feb, 18, 1998 http://www.usatoday.com/news/index/iraq/iraq172.htm

"[W]e urge you, after consulting with Congress, and consistent with the U.S. Constitution and laws, to take necessary actions (including, if appropriate, air and missile strikes on suspect Iraqi sites) to respond effectively to the threat posed by Iraq's refusal to end its weapons of mass destruction programs." - Letter to President Clinton, signed by Sens. Carl Levin, Tom Daschle, John Kerry, and others Oct. 9, 1998 http://www.iraqwatch.org/government/US/Letters,%20reports%20and%20statements/levin-10-9- 98.html

"Saddam Hussein has been engaged in the development of weapons of mass destruction technology which is a threat to countries in the region and he has made a mockery of the weapons inspection process." - Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D, CA), Dec. 16, 1998 http://www.house.gov/pelosi/priraq1.htm

"Hussein has ... chosen to spend his money on building weapons of mass destruction and palaces for his cronies." - Madeline Albright, Clinton Secretary of State, Nov. 10, 1999

"There is no doubt that ... Saddam Hussein has invigorated his weapons programs. Reports indicate that biological, chemical and nuclear programs continue apace and may be back to pre- Gulf War status. In addition, Saddam continues to redefine delivery systems and is doubtless using the cover of a licit missile program to develop longer-range missiles that will threaten the United States and our allies." - Letter to President Bush, Signed by Sen. Bob Graham (D, FL,) and others, December 5, 2001

"We begin with the common belief that Saddam Hussein is a tyrant and a threat to the peace and stability of the region. He has ignored the mandated of the United Nations and is building weapons of mass destruction and the means of delivering them." - Sen. Carl Levin (D, MI), Sept. 19, 2002 http://www.defenselink.mil/speeches/2002/s20020919-secdef2.html

"We know that he has stored secret supplies of biological and chemical weapons throughout his country." - Al Gore, Sept. 23, 2002 http://www.washtimes.com/national/20030805-100743-9640r.htm

"Iraq's search for weapons of mass destruction has proven impossible to deter and we should assume that it will continue for as long as Saddam is in power." - Al Gore, Sept. 23, 2002

"We have known for many years that Saddam Hussein is seeking and developing weapons of mass destruction." - Sen. Ted Kennedy (D, MA), Sept. 27, 2002 http://kennedy.senate.gov/~kennedy/statements/02/09/2002927718.html

"The last UN weapons inspectors left Iraq in October of 1998. We are confident that Saddam Hussein retains some stockpiles of chemical and biological weapons, and that he has since embarked on a crash course to build up his chemical and biological warfare capabilities. Intelligence reports indicate that he is seeking nuclear weapons..." - Sen. Robert Byrd (D, WV), Oct. 3, 2002

"I will be voting to give the President of the United States the authority to use force-- if necessary-- to disarm Saddam Hussein because I believe that a deadly arsenal of weapons of mass destruction in his hands is a real and grave threat to our security." - Sen. John F. Kerry (D, MA), Oct. 9, 2002

"There is unmistakable evidence that Saddam Hussein is working aggressively to develop nuclear weapons and will likely have nuclear weapons within the next five years ... We also should remember we have always underestimated the progress Saddam has made in development of weapons of mass destruction." - Sen. Jay Rockefeller (D, WV), Oct 10, 2002

"He has systematically violated, over the course of the past 11 years, every significant UN resolution that has demanded that he disarm and destroy his chemical and biological weapons, and any nuclear capacity. This he has refused to do" Rep. - Henry Waxman (D, CA), Oct. 10, 2002

"In the four years since the inspectors left, intelligence reports show that Saddam Hussein has worked to rebuild his chemical and biological weapons stock, his missile delivery capability, and his nuclear program. He has also given aid, comfort, and sanctuary to terrorists, including al- Qaeda members .. It is clear, however, that if left unchecked, Saddam Hussein will continue to increase his capacity to wage biological and chemical warfare, and will keep trying to develop nuclear weapons." - Sen. Hillary Clinton (D, NY), Oct 10, 2002 http://clinton.senate.gov/speeches/iraq_101002.html

"We are in possession of what I think to be compelling evidence that Saddam Hussein has, and has had for a number of years, a developing capacity for the production and storage of weapons of mass destruction." - Sen. Bob Graham (D, FL), Dec. 8, 2002 http://www.atimes.com/atimes/Middle_East/DL12Ak02.html

"Without question, we need to disarm Saddam Hussein. He is a brutal, murderous dictator, leading an oppressive regime ... He presents a particularly grievous threat because he is so consistently prone to miscalculation ... And now he is miscalculating America's response to his continued deceit and his consistent grasp for weapons of mass destruction ... So the threat of Saddam Hussein with weapons of mass destruction is real ..." - Sen. John F. Kerry (D, MA), Jan. 23. 2003 http://web.archive.org/web/20040613015116/www.johnkerry.com/pressroom/speeches/spc_2003 _0123.html

[I was] Registering voters in West Los Angeles

Giving free cigarettes to the homeless if they'd just get into your van and go vote with you?

Well, shucks! I thought it just needed to be delivered.

And I don't understand the stupid rebates, either. It would sure be more convenient just to give the rebate right away. It sometimes takes 6 months to be reimbursed! Sheesh! By that time you've forgotten about it.

My bad, I didn't read the year. November 2, 2004, I was working the polls for Bush & didn't see any of the depressing exit polls till after the polls closed. I knew the exit polls were fake as soon as I saw Kerry winning in Virginia.

Kerry was a certain loser.

We all knew that from the moment he started his campaign. He still is.

It still strikes me as funny how they will DUmp truck several thousand votes at once into an online poll using bots, then are shocked as to why many polls aren't reliable.

(Good luck with your computer. I can't get mine to download software. Grrrr!)

Anyway, re Election Day 2004: I was reading a thread on one of the more, ahem, liberal websites. Here were some of the posts, not quite verbatim, but in chronological order:

"Woo hoo! Kerry ahead!"
"Looks like he's in!"
"Oh no. Wait, he lost North Carolina."
"Oh no. Bush got the Midwest."
"Ohio's gone."
"Guys, we're f****d."
"I'm leaving the country."

A few days later, I stumbled across the FREE REPUBLIC, and laughed over the election threads. Shortly later, I signed on.

There is no way, NO WAY that an otherwise rational, adult human being could ever really post such crap without laughing their asses off.

You're assuming DUmmies are rational beings?

See if you can spot your error. Right! Got it in one. These are NOT rational human beings. Sometimes I have doubts about the "human" part, too.

Still there are a lot of FReepers having fun mocking DUmmies. It's so hard to resist.

That's how a lot of gay people started.

I spent election day in Yosemite, enjoying some quality father/son time at the cabin! We turned on the radio late that evening just in time to hear that Bush won, and then played some guitar and sang happy songs by the fire.

I guess I'll play along with the DUmmies and post my story since that was the last day I was officially a DUmmie.

I got up around 7am and walked over to the polls. The station was set up 1 block from my house and I was the 3rd or 4th one there. Some Hippies from MoveOn were first. We exchanged some Bush bashing and voted for Kerry. By then all the smelly hippies were piling in and started to play drums outside.

Later that night I started watching the results come in. When I knew there was no possible way Kerry could win, I logged on to DU and they were going nuts. I remember feeling like we dodged a bullet and I posted something on DU for the DUmmies to calm down. They deleted my post.

The next morning I woke up a FReeper and lurked here every day until I finally registered. I felt alive while all the hippies looked suicidal. The drums went silent and the pot smoke increased. I remember walking around and seeing all the shades/windows closed with the occasional Kerry/Edwards signs littering the street.
