Posted at 09:56 AM ET, 09/22/2005 Sen. Feinstein votes no. Vote Yes: Specter (R) No: Feinstein (D) Sen. Feinstein cast her vote no, saying she did not like Roberts answers to her questions and those of other senators, and particularly as "the only woman on the committee," remains unvconvinced that he will act as Chief Justice to uphold basic rights of all Americans. The committee has taken a break for a floor vote.

Sounds like they did not finish the vote out of committee???
I don't think I can bear to watch the DEMS try to damage Roberts...or set themselves up for the next vote!
Feinstein is the Senator from NARAL. She is one of only a handful of Senators who have a career 100% voting record for NARAL and Planned Parenthood. She has been pretty successful at keeping this quiet and portraying herself as a "moderate" Democrat, but when it comes to abortion she is a radical leftist. She will never vote for a Supreme Court justice nominated by a Republican president.
Good point. Most of us had probably forgotten about that remark. I know I had.
Thanks for the reminder.
Has the vote started or are we in the "bloviating" stage of this wonderful dog and pony show?
It's a disgrace to the nation that the vote is not 18-0.
Roberts vote.....PING
Yep, more of the ususal "Do as I say , not as I do" that dems are so well noted for.
bttt
Thanks for the ping.
It's on CSPAN 3 on the internet.
Who has voted so far?
OK T.O.L, some kind of graphic is in order.
We have a 1-1 count now. Fienstein NO, Specter YES>
They're back up....

Some additional coverage in The Corner. DiFi is a no on Roberts. Kohl, according to AP is a yes: "Sen. Herb Kohl, D-Wis., will vote to confirm John Roberts for chief justice, his office said in a brief statement Thursday."
I darn near choked on my donut reading that.
This is the speechifying stage..where they get 10 minutes each to explain how/why they will vote..the actual roll call vote should be about 1 PM..give or take..
Roberts made all the Democrats look like mental midgets. He'll be confirmed. They will have to live with him for the next 30 years. Heh.
Hey ,we got one of those at work this week.
Well, ours doesn't have wheels.
I considered your suggestion and have decided no. This is the live thread. The Senate is voting on a bill right now and the Judiciary Committee, as noted a few posts up, is making speeches now. The actual vote will happen later. Be patient.
Hah, I see you are over here too. There are 4 threads I need to be on this morning. I don't think I can do it :)
