... and all Vietnam Veterans.
I grew up not understanding any of it because my stepdad served in the Navy in the war, and my mother was a flower child - against it but never in words to me. A grandfather who served in the US Navy in Korea. An uncle who served in the USMC. Those men who I knew already had my love... and because of them the military as a whole had earned my admiration.
It is the actions of individual men like you who helped earn my unshakable respect and loyalty. I found myself in this War on Terror adopting a total of 6 of our soldiers and sailors in Iraq and Afghanistan. I did it for many reasons - the most prescient one being I didn't want them to ever harbor the belief that their fight was not appreciated. That they would face the same ignorance, hatred, disrespect when they returned to their homes.
John O'Neill I was just one of the people in this country who found themselves watching channels I never seriously tuned into before (CSPAN, MSNBC, Nightline) just to hear you speak. You helped me put faces to history and for that I will be forever grateful... and forever changed.
NavyChief, I watched as you labored day after day to undo the damage a single man did to thousands and thousands - who many wished to forget.
I have many more words I cannot properly express to all of you. The hundreds of you who appealed to me - someone who wasn't there, didn't understand... to just... listen.
Thank you from my heart and soul. I can look at my baby daughter now and know that because of the actions of all of you - the bravest men I have ever seen - she is safer today.
If it was not for all of you fighting another war - another battle many of you may have not wished to fight - we may be facing a future of not just uncertainty, but feeling as if we were being led by a man without a soul.
To those men who came to fight this new battle, but had misgivings that perhaps it was best left alone - Thank you. We needed to hear you. We needed to see you. We needed to know you.
You will never be forgotten again.
God Bless all of you.
It's the least I can do for all you have done for me, and all of us.
Beautiful... you speak for many. Thank you !
Now, I and all Vietnam veterans are vindicated. We won. I can never say to the Swifties personally, but I am as proud of my fellow military people as I can be. They were magnificent in the face of all the left, the pukes of the MSM and the socialist democratic party could throw in their faces. They stood tall. They were war veterans. They had seen combat. Many were wounded. There was nothing the pukes of the left could do or say to them that equaled the hell of combat, or what John Kerry had said about them. Today, they are victors, finally, unquestionably, they are the winners. Thank you Swifties. Thank you from the bottom of my heart! Hoooooooooooaaaaaaaauuuuuuuuuuuuuu!
Thank you Swift Vets, you have been an inspiration during this election. All of you, are more suited to be President, than John Kerry could ever be. It is a Happy, happy day, were we just bask in the glory of the Win.
No John Kerry on 04!
Thank you. That makes me feel much better. I am still overwhelmed.
I was numb last night, and I finally had the courage to write it all down this morning. I knew they needed to hear it. It went beyond just buying their book and believing them for me. :)
I know there are lots of us who feel this way. And that makes me very grateful.
As a Vietnam veteran I cannot express how much your words mean to me. I must admit that I have feared that Kerry would somehow become POTUS and we would once again be spat upon by the good ole U.S. of A. I thank all who have worked to defeat that self-absorbed traitor.
My latest column is also a very practical thank-you to the Swifties and all veterans. Click below.

Thank you. God Bless you. It is men like you who cause me to look to the sky whenever I hear the fighter planes from Miramar and ...smile. It is men like you who made it possible for me to appreciate the true definition of freedom and sacrifice.
I am sorry for so much. I only hope that our generation - and our country - can make it up to you.
All of you have changed my life. Know that I understand now. And my daughter will too.
Tears of joy and gratitude as I write this...
Thank you. To serve my country was my honor indeed. I am still here, ready to go, if called.
Thank you for posting your column link. Everyone should read it. When I read it last night, it dented a bit of the numbness I was feeling at the prospect of facing another 2000 nightmare.
Whenever I see your "handle" in the forum, I peek in to see what's going on. I remember Rush quoting you once upon a time, and have always known there is wisdom to be found where you are. That and a good bit of humor.
you poor dumb bastard.
I just reported yoCheese, as they haven't been banned yet. Horrid.
