Frrepers: Who typed the memos?

Posted on 09/24/2004 11:22:37 AM PDT by Evilscott

We need to put some collective brainpower together! Who typed up the fake Killian memos? I don't think it was Burkett, here's why: 1) He would have done it years ago, and 2) The memo format was incorrect. Since he has been liveing and breathing this paperwork for years, he would not have created new ones with the incorrect format.

I think the Kery camp/DNC kids typed them and laundered them to Burkett knowing Mapes was circling overhead. What do you think?

.....I think the Kery camp/DNC kids typed them.....

An order was given and carried out. You're right who typed them.

The larger question is who ordered the typing to take place?

DOH!
Okay, I typed too fast. Speaking of Tony the Tiger.
Did you hear about this?

Mary Mapes is working on a jigsaw puzzle. She is having a hard time getting started, so she calls up Karl Rove, whom she knows is a very smart man. He asks, "What is the picture of the puzzle supposed to be?", Mary replies, well, there is a tiger on the box. Karl says, I'll be right over! When Karl arrives he takes a look at Mary trying to put the puzzle together, finally Karl says, "Mary, why don't we just put all the frosted flakes back in the box, and have some milk."

LOL.

Mathew Lesko did it. -- "I did all the work, all you have to do is make a phone call." Is that guy (free government money) the most irritating person in the world?

Here's my theory:

Burkett is an old guy and probably still types on an old Remington. I'd be very surprised if he knew anything about computers at all. That's why he probably thought the memos were real.

Mary Mapes is behind the whole thing. She's been working on this story for five years, chasing down leads, paying out money, and coming up dry. She needed a Smoking Gun to clinch her Bush TANG report. So close--so close--to becoming a Woodward or Bernstein.

But nix--nada-zero-nothing. So, frustrated by her lack of proof, and driven by her vaulting ambition to bring Bush down, SHE HERSELF fabricated documents. Thus becoming the Jason Blair of MSM.

You have a wrong assumption in your post. Burkett was in the ARMY National Guard, not the AIR National Guard. In several places, the format used by the Army Guard appears in the Burkett memos, rather than the format used in the Air Guard.

So the format errors suggest that Burkett might have made the forgeries, rather than someone else.

I'm well aware of who was in what part of the Guard.
The format I'm talking about is the latest Rather memos are in a format not used by ANYONE in the military at that time. This format came into being in the 1990s. The
"Memorandum For...." is a big tell tale sign.

Frrepers: Who typed the memos?

You're a little TOO inquisitive. Looking up your posting history, you're all over the CBS memo forgery threads. Asking too many questions. And you're a newbie.

Sorry, but we don't share this kind of info with anyone. Who really typed up the memos is a secret we are not ready to share with you or anyone else at this time. Now go play in the street like a good boy.

The real question is why weren't they typed on a '72 typewriter, easily acquired any day of the week, even the precise machine in use in those offices at the time?

I still think there is more to this than is visible on this level.
