A curious thing happened in the Supreme Court budget hearing yesterday. Rep. Joe Serrano went on a long monologue about 'diversity' in the court and even said he would be glad when the day came, that a Puerto Rican could be president...to which Thomas replied that the court was avoiding that question. Nervous laughter ensues and the topic is quickly dropped. I'd like to know what my fellow FReepers think of the exchange.
It happens around the 1:13-1:14:10 mark in the video. It would be great if someone could isolate that exchange and put it on YouTube so everyone could hear it without sitting through the entire hearing.

How sad it is that it takes a Supreme Court Justice to explain how this stuff works to not just a sitting Member of Congress, but someone who for years worked for an earlier Member. The whining from all these lefties, it reminds me of how Hollywood was lauding and congratulating Halle Berry and Denzel Washington receiving Oscars, all that *color barrier has been broken* hyperbole, no one ever bothers to point out to those yahoos that THEY are the ones who choose nominees and then vote for the winners, not the whole of our society.
It was obvious by July ‘08 that he was throwing the election. McCain in that sense is worse than 0kaka, and every single Repub that helped get him in as the candidate - I’m meaning “leadership”, not those of us who had to vote for him, 0kaka or a spoiler - are absolutely guilty as hell.

In some parts of the valley unemployment is 40%. I was going to look up El Centro's rate because they said it was unemployment capital of the United states. Right on the border tell you anything?
What is the something? Somehow stop revenue going to Obama's agenda? If everyone said NO MORE! I no longer volunteer to pay taxes. If the majority stopped paying what would happen? Obama coule not survive. He could no longer borrow either because he could not make his interest payments. 48% pay no taxes so they would be on Obama's side. If even 30% stopped paying Obama would be done.
Just yesterday one of the talk show hosts was saying as everyone is getting more desperate, Obama is flying in Master Chefs from all over the world. And I still want to know how Obama made 5.5 million since he took office. He said everyone must sacrifice as he rolls in the money and lives off of the people.
When I do genealogy, it pays to look at the surrounding counties. Were all the surrounding counties to Wichita searched? Was Stanley in the army in 42? If he was, then Ann could have been born where he was stationed.
Nothing but gut feeling, but the Oklahoma records need to be looked at. On I-35 between Wichita, Kansas to Oklahoma City and across to Tulsa.
She was born (according to the stories) on an Army base at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.

IMHO, SCOTUS has to have the “right” case, which they haven’t seen yet. They also may be holding out until after the 2010 elections to see the makeup of the new congress.
If they make a mistake with a dem majority in congress, 0bama stays in office, packs the supreme court (as FDR threatened to do) with loons and the country is, at that point, lost.

It does not need to be a state for it to be part of the United States of America. Lots of places aren't states but are still part of the US. The federal district for instance.

If you've visited the District of Columbia and walked its original perimeters, you can find the boundary stones set in place once every mile. Look along Western Avenue, Eastern Avenue, and Southern Avenue, where the District of Columbia borders the State of Maryland. I know that along Eastern Avenue, you can still find stones with "Maryland" carved on one side, and "Jurisdiction of the United States" on the other. The stones also had the date "1791" carved on them.

What would a revolution be in a country the size of the US? I know you don’t have all the answers. Just wondering what people think it would be like. I think people would be killed and imprisoned. Obama would say they were racists,nutjobs and UnAmerican.
It would also fulfill one of Obama’s dreams of depopulation. I could see people not involved being imprisoned and killed. Never let a crisis go to waste, get out there and get those people who opposed me.
Maybe. Maybe not. That is a very tough legal question. Take a gander at the precedents of the Insular Cases. If the American legal system has a twilight zone, it's in Puerto Rico! Unfortunately, The SCOTUS is an appeals court and cannot just favor us with learned opinions on this, and the eligibility of fellow rumored to be a dual citizen of the UK and US moving into government housing without proper documentation.... unless someone makes a case and gets it up to them with all the right seals and ribbons attached.

Gabriella (nee Clark) Armour (Stanley’s grandmother) - 41 - MO/MO/KY
Ralph Waldo Emerson Dunham (Stanley’s father) - 26 - KS/KS/KS - owned a shop
Ruth Lucille (nee Armour) Dunham (Stanley’s mother) - 19 - IL/IL/MO
Ralph Dunham, Jr. (Stanley’s brother) - can’t read age - KS/KS/IL

Just an observation - in present day, about a block over from Walnut is Schottler auto shop.
Also of note, Stanley’s mama’s side came from Illinois. If someone has access to the 1930 Census for Kansas, they might find Stanley living with relatives since mama had died/suicide.
And the Ralph Waldo Emerson influence might be where this family got their leanings.
