Ah, so she was (supposedly) born on an army base. Perhaps her bc was “destroyed” when the FBI supposedly “destroyed” Stanley’s records. Has anyone searched the birth records in Leavenworth County and surrounding counties or over into IL or MO?

Sorry, far too often when I’m on an eligibility thread my puter goes goofy. Explain that... Anyway, just got back on. Here’s all I know - The latest Census released was the 1930 but I don’t have access to that one but here’s what the 1920 shows on the family:

1920 Census - 300 block (my best guess) of N. Walnut St., Wichita, Sedgwick Co., KS:

Christopher C. Clark (Stanley’s grandmother’s father) - 74 - widow - born MO/father born MO/mother born MO - worked in oil fields
Harry Armour (Stanley’s grandfather) - 46 - IL/IL/MO - auto mechanic
Gabriella (nee Clark) Armour (Stanley’s grandmother) - 41 - MO/MO/KY
Ralph Waldo Emerson Dunham (Stanley’s father) - 26 - KS/KS/KS - owned a shop
Ruth Lucille (nee Armour) Dunham (Stanley’s mother) - 19 - IL/IL/MO
Ralph Dunham, Jr. (Stanley’s brother) - can’t read age - KS/KS/IL
Stanley - 1 - KS/KS/IL

Just an observation - in present day, about a block over from Walnut is Schottler auto shop.

Also of note, Stanley’s mama’s side came from Illinois. If someone has access to the 1930 Census for Kansas, they might find Stanley living with relatives since mama had died/suicide.

And the Ralph Waldo Emerson influence might be where this family got their leanings.
**************
1920 Census - Peru City, Chautauqua Co., KS

January 3:
Rolla C. Payne - 27 - single - Main St. renting - KS/MO/OH - bookkeeper - Prairie Oil and Gas office

January 7:
Leona McCurry - 22 - single - Merchant St. boarder with Francis Floyd family - KS/IL/TN

*******
There is another Rolla Payne of about the same age up by Ft. Leavenworth.
January 16:
1920 Census - 400 block (my guess), S. Sycamore St., Ottawa, Franklin Co., KS
Rolla Payne - 25 - first marriage - owns house - KS/MO/KS - boiler worker at round house
Rena Payne - 25 - KS/KS/KS - grocery store bookkeeper

Thank you for looking that up. I will look up my information as soon as I can. My problem is I will be there forever once I start researching. But I know I saved some.
