Well done, kyright! 187 posts to get to the crux of Thomas’ statement. They aren’t “avoiding” the issue, they’re “evading” the issue. Big difference. Justice Thomas knows the difference and he doesn’t speak without thinking. He knew exactly what he was saying and what he wanted to convey.
IMHO, SCOTUS has to have the “right” case, which they haven’t seen yet. They also may be holding out until after the 2010 elections to see the makeup of the new congress.
If they make a mistake with a dem majority in congress, 0bama stays in office, packs the supreme court (as FDR threatened to do) with loons and the country is, at that point, lost.
I pointed that out way back in #14 but, as usual, people get something stuck in their minds ("avoiding") and run with it without verifying it for themselves. There is a huge difference between the two words.
