So here I was - taking my daughter to school this morning (She is a high school sophomore) and she was telling me of a discussion she and the other kids were having about Black History Month.
One kid suggested that - to be fair - there should be a White History Month. He was quickly chastised; "Whites don't deserve a special history month due to the racial prejudices they've committed over the years". My daughter related some of the "Rosa Parks" types of incidents as evidence of why there should be no White History Month.
It was early. I was driving and had not yet had my first cup of coffee. And so I was speechless.

Ask why Obama was admitted to Columbia and Harvard Law on grades and test scores that were inferior to most of the other applicants.
Ask why someone only needs a C grade when others need A’s.

I have always said that without individual freedom there is no freedom. With collective freedom that means they can single out any individual and do whatever they want as long as they leave the "collective" intact. Individual freedom is the only way to guarantee freedom to everyone.
Indeed. It is a misnomer. A platitude. A pointless and incorrect label. The government insists on labels so they can parcel out their largess to those with the favored labels.

IF any ‘teacher’ of ‘principal’ told my kid that he/she would get an earful—as I took the kid and started home schooling somehow someway. I could probably pay a retired neighbor to teach my kids and it would cost less than a tutor.
How about, Red-neck, white boy, peckerwood month? I know a great candidate for a guest speaker to kick off the celebration.
Georges Sorel, a syndicalist and hero of Mussolini, said that in order to carry out its "historic mission" the working class needed heroic myths. The Left long ago abandoned the "working class" for "oppressed nations" so the "myth of the general strike" advocated by Sorel has been replaced with a bizarre "Communism of blood and soil" in which Marxism is mixed with what would otherwise be recognized as an extreme and militant right wing nationalism straight out of nineteenth century European romanticism.
The Left has thus stolen the platform of a man they actually despised during his own lifetime--Marcus Garvey. Garvey was hated and detested by the Communists and the NAACP and was in fact a "right wing extremist" and admirer of Adolf Hitler (mach shemo!). But anyway, in the place of the "working class" being taught the "myth of the general strike" we have Blacks being indoctrinated in a fanatical nationalism and a pan-African patriotism that makes Theodore Roosevelt's jingoism look positively seditious.
The leaders of the Left know that the line they borrowed from the Nazis and are feeding to Blacks ("We infented zivilisation!") isn't true, but that's not the point. The point is to enable the "oppressed nation" to carry out the "historic purpose" once reserved for the nationless world proletariat.
Furthermore, what most Americans do not understand is that American Blacks are neither the only, nor even the first, ethnic group to be "adopted" by the Left in this way. This same blend of mystical nationalism and Communism (in which Karl Marx becomes a sort of naturalized nationalistic totem for the "oppressed nation") can be used with any ethnic group. In the British Isles and Brittany, Celtic nationalism has the Leftist Seal of Approval. In Spain it is the Basques. In Canada it is the French Canadians of Quebec, who are hardly "indigenous pipples" or "people of color." And of course beyond the Blacks in the United States the same sweet deal of socialism-without-having-to-hate-yourself has been offered to Hispanics, "native Americans," Melungeons, Eskimos, Hawai'ians, Japanese-Americans, Arabs/moslems, and even women and homosexuals (who supposedly were abducted from their mystical native arcadias of "Womanland" and "Gayland," respectively). And throughout the nineteenth century, when romantic nationalism was really getting going, it was almost always mixed with socialism. "Patriots" from Ireland to Armenia saw in socialism the ultimate form of self-celebration.
I have often maintained that no aspect of the Left is so open to parody as this mystical Nationalist Communism. Someone should begin a movement that exposes Leftist nationalism by mimicking it with a group that should by all rights have been adopted by the Left by now but for some mysterious reason hasn't (at least not since Jerry Brown): the Cajuns of Louisiana.
I propose a militant socialist Cajun National Liberation Army whose goal is the liberation of Louisiana in behalf of its indigenous population of French-speaking Roman Catholic Cajuns, who have lived there from the Dawn of Time until the Foreign Devil and his alien internationalist ideology of capitalism displaced them. Furthermore, the goal is to liberate not merely the State of Louisiana as it exists today, but Restored Socialist Louisiana, which shall consist of the entire Louisiana Territory purchased from Napoleon. This is the rightful homeland of the oppressed indigenous Cajun people, who should be instructed that their ancient ancestors were in fact Communists, and that Communism, far from being a radical break from the past, is the Restoration of True Cajun-ness In All Things. I furthermore propose as the symbol of this movement a picture of Karl Marx in Cajun garb trapping crawdads out of a bayou.
Moreover, while not actually true, the oppressed Cajun people will need an irrational myth to enable them to perform their historic mission. They should be taught that Cajuns have lived in Louisiana from Time Immemorial and invented civilization, but that their true heritage has been stolen from them by The Man. Children throughout the United States must be taught Cajun history and Cajun patriotism must be built up to Mussolinian levels even as the guilty Americans made to loathe themselves.
Now doesn't this sound like a plan???
All kidding aside, I have often wondered why the Left doesn't simply offer everyone, including the evil oppressive Trailer Trash the same deal it offers everyone else. It would certainly make for less opposition to their program and perhaps advance their program that much quicker. However, I have come to see the inherent Hegelianism of the Left, and this Hegelianism demands a "bad guy?--and "antithesis" against which the "good guys" struggle and, ultimately, triumph. And unfortunately, right now that antithesis is suppled by the United States of America in general (please note, the world's most "artificial" nation, not having sprung "organically" from the soil) and white trash.
Nothing is more frustrating than the naive belief of some on the Left that it offers the same deal to everyone. Nothing could be farther from the truth.

Something about blacks sold other blacks into slavery and never did a d@mn thing to free them and how slavery persists there even now. Also, about how blacks slave revolts (like Haiti) ended badly even if the slaves won. And finally point out that, while it persists in Africa, whites ended slavery in much of the rest of world, and, in America, we fought to free them (not exactly true, but close enough...).
Point out at that Africans harbor tremendous racism based on stuff we wouldn’t even notice (Hutus vs. Tutsis). Point out to her what hellholes many black-governed nations are and, far from being victims of colonialism, they squandered their colonial legacy.
Also ask her to name 10 accomplishments of Africans in Africa that changed the world. (Also point out that blacks do better in the US than Africa, for instance Dr. Charles Drew who invented improved blood storage techniques that saved thousands of lives in WWII).
Also ask her to name an African epic equal in scope and influence to The Illiad and Oddessey, The Aeneid, The Ring Cycle, the Song of Roland or the Arthurian Cycle.

It is prevelant in all the ‘music’ that the blacks produce and get kudos for. Kids listen to crap and don’t realize they are being indoctrinated even more. I would like parents to block downloads into their kids music toys, and to regularly make them play what they have on their devices—then make them eliminate the trash or lose the device. Those devices amount to portable indoctrination, as the kids have them in their ears all the time.
American: (my definition)
1. any person, born or naturalized, to citizenship in the United States of America. Said person can be of any ethnicity, skin color or linguistic heritage. Almost every language in the world in spoken by at least 1 American citizen. Their common language is English. They enjoy more individual freedoms than any other person living on the planet. Uniformly individualistic, idealistic and committed to the Constitutional Republic in which they live.
At least that is the way an American should be. 8)
IF my kids are allowed to have some device like that, I will use the indoctrination for the good... that is, for the Glory of God, by having them listen to glorifying stuff that helps their lives.
