When listing my favourites, I forgot Händel. What a goof.

Of all Classic Styles I love Baroque myself. Classic Composers I think Mozart was a rocker and a true genius. But I find the classic influence in all kinds of music. I like older rock, some alternative, classical, a lot of country pop, some hip hop, no rap. I like some blues, some jazz, and instrumental blue grass. All form of music is good but there are a lot of bad performers.

The Seasons (OK, The Four Seasons, but that wasn't how he referred to them) is (are) brilliant! A number of his other violin concetos, the concerto for two trumpets, the one for two mandolins, etc. are very attractive, but much of his work strikes me as note-spinning. (Haydn really bugs me with so much note-spinning). Stravinsky is supposed to have said that Vivaldi wrote the same concerto 550 times, which is not strictly fair (usually bitchy tempermental artist remark!), but I know what he meant.

Pack up all your dishes,
Make note of all good wishes.
Say goodbye to the landlord for me;
Sonsofb!tches, they always bore me.
Throw out those LA papers;
Moldy box of vanilla wafers.
Leave the key in the old front door lock,
They will find it, likely as not.....
If I can just get off o' that LA Freeway
Without gettin' killed or caught...
Down the road in a cloud of smoke
Lies some land that I ain't bought bought bought...
Mr. Jerry Jeff Walker
A favorite of mine; perhaps yours, too.
To: Argh
Not in the least.
To: Flurry
Norah Jones also has a lovely voice.

Dressing like a ho' seems to be a requirement for female vocalists these days...
And for some -- acting like a ho'.

Unusually for a classical fan, I loathe most jazz. It's just too empty. I think rap, like minimalism, should have been done once, and they should not have been made into genres. There is the occasional good popular song, but I find most of it empty caterwauling. And REPETITIVE!! My God, exact repetition of the same phrase umpteen times in the course of a 3 minute song!! No art, no brains, no soul, no plan, no subtlety, no good.
For example, I was sick to my stomach at Celine Dion's famous Titanic song half way through the second time I heard it. The person who wrote at came up with two-thirds of a great tune, and proceeded to repeat the whole tune over and over and over and over and over and...
Thank you for allowing me to rant.

I like Jerry Jeff. That's why when I was getting LE to change her name I said, use your real first name and your dad's middle name. It will sound so redneck. Hence Laura Earl was born.

Al Gore gave a speech last week,
of stolid, plodding intellect.
It made his listeners,
turgid with delight.
