Hi there barkeep! Haven't been in for a while... but since I'm now in a non-virtual bar with my laptop and wireless, with a *non-virtual* fine double Wild Turkey and a Red Hook in front of me... I'll settle for a picture of same... :-) How's everybody?
Any chance we can designate the lounge as a no-liz-smart zone?? Last night I had way more of that than I can take... :-p

Thanks! That'll do nicely. Liz who?
I hear there's maybe a war on... at least it would get the damn media out of Utah.

I did, Joe. I bought my truck a new carbureator with part of it, too, but hubby and I were in a hurry when we installed it. We just need to adjust it some and make sure that the choke wire has good contact. I bought my car new brakes, too-rotors, calipers the works, which will be finished Monday, but I can't take it to a lot of job sites-it sits too low on the ground, so I need my truck. Thanks for the beers, yum.......

I'm in the middle of moving to our new house-I share your trauma, big time. Very unsettling experience (but the alternative is staying in the old house, and I suspect that is not acceptable to either of us, hmmmmm..)

(but the alternative is staying in the old house, and I suspect that is not acceptable to either of us, hmmmmm..) How correct you are.
The new house is probably only half the size of this place, but it is out in the country and away from the damned drug dealers I've been forced to live with for the past 2 years.
On the other hand, we're moving from a townhouse with a 35x150 lot to 1.75 acres. The house has major potentials for expansions.

Ah, yes... Lord, it's good clean fun to smack the French around.
"Now go away... or I shall taunt you a second time!!!!"
I must admit that I utterly failed to boycott last week, on a trip to the Bay Area. Stayed in the Sofitel (not my fault! It's the only thing close enough to the office where we have a corporate rate! That, and the bartender in the lounge is cute and she knows me by name now. I've stayed there every two weeks for the last two years.)
But: No french flags out front anymore. This, even in SF. You've got to know that things are getting lousy for the French when they don't even have any friends in San Francisco. :-)

I have a major problem with all the French bashing - NOT....
Even though my name is Gabrielle, my daughter's name is Jacqueline and our last name is so French init's spelling, that most people can't pronouce it when they read it.
I don't give a hoot what the French say about us. My husband's last name may be French, but his great (x5) grandfather was Major James Hale - the brother of Nathan.
The French last name in this household does not keep us from despising what that country is doing right now.

13. The first known contraceptive was crocodile dung, used by Egyptians in 2000 B.C. Whether it worked as a contraceptive or not, I don't know, but the collection of same was likely a good population control mechanism one way or the other...

That is very close..... I am out of here, Joe, I will do my best to touch base from the ship. They actually have computer access for guests now.
Have fun and party on. I plan too............

...as long as your last name isn't "Maginot". :-)
I keep wondering why Chirac is willing to expend so much political capital to save a despot. It's going to be just plain entertaining to overturn chemical shells in Baghdad and see the "made in france" label. I almost feel sorry for them.

That house and property are beautiful, Gabz! I love the picture of the barn sitting in the winter grass. Interesting similarities in the moving thing-We also are moving from a 80x120 city lot to just under an acre in the country. Our new house, however is bigger than the old one. I will post some pictures when I have the computer moved and all the peripherals hooked up, I promise. My husband has a French surname, too, and almost exclusively Canadian French ancestry on both sides of his family. He is fond of saying that the first smart thing his family did was leave France, and the second was to leave Canada for the US.
