AMERICA - The Right Way!! (Day 740) [Remember the Trade Center!!]
Various News Sources and FReepers | January 30, 2003 | All of Us

Posted on 01/30/2003 4:28:36 AM PST by Chairman_December_19th_Society

We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!

Good morning!! Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!

This is a quick start this morning as I am getting ready to head on over to CPAC, but I will leave you with this thought - Fox News Channel had, for the State of the Union Address, the highest ratings in the network's history.

For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

Another good site with a carb counter

I think the goal for the induction stage is to have 20 total carbs or less per day. Not sure if that is the correct number.

BTW, Molly, how is your husband doing?

Not even real milk..except for cheese. If you want milk it should be cream or half and half.

What I meant by that was an eight ounce glass of 2% is over 11 carbs....whole milk is slightly less. Far too high in carbs. I suppose if you were to use it for coffee it would be all right.

I can't tell you how important I think it is to read the book. I heard all about the diet from someone who had success with it and he gave me the book. I ignored the book and used it only for occasional reference. I was going just based on what he had told me, but I didn't get far.

Three years later I actually got around to reading it and it made all the difference. Without knowing how it works and what you can and can't do, there are just too many pitfalls.

It's not bad reading, either. I know reading a diet book isn't high on anyone's list of things to do, but you can learn a lot that will really change your life. I particularly liked the angle that the Atkins diet is considered anathema by the medical establishment. It gave me great pleasure to lose weight easily and deliciously, and know that I was becoming another "proof" that the medical establishment was full of hot air in re to Atkins.

By the way, don't overlook the benefit this diet has on one's cholesterol and triglycerides. My numbers improved dramatically in 3-4 months on the diet. And I lost over 35 lbs along the way.

I need to read what's allowed and what's not allowed. I'd only use 2% on cereal. I really don't like milk...

The reason we have a good president is my design by our Lord. I honestly think he has had enough and put W in the spot to make a difference.

My family, thanks and yes, we are extreamly close, I am so lucky and even more, Blessed. My youngest daughter is the left side of my heart and my gd is the right side.

Thanks. We're looking for those kind of results for MR HOB. I mean, he has the high tri-glids and a high chlorestrol count. My counts are good but I'd like to get them down a bit. The over-all count is 199 and I don't like the idea of them creeping upwards. I'm going to get the book this week-end (Friday). I wonder if you can eat shrimp??? BBL

BTW, congrats on your successes!

You really need to get used to thinking in terms of total grams of carbohydrates consumed per day, rather than what foods are allowed or not allowed. Cereals, breads, grains, flour, sugar, and a few other things are all high in carbohydrates and should probably be avoided altogether, at least for the induction phase.

Meat, eggs, seafood, and cheese are all practically free of carbohydrates. There is absolutely NO reason to go hungry on this diet. If you are, you're probably doing something wrong.

Fruits are high enough in carbs to warrant avoiding them altogether for the first two weeks and then minimally after that. Vegetables vary, but in general you won't be having more than one or two servings of vegetables per day in the first two weeks.

Forget about the cereal and 2% milk for breakfast. Why not go for ham and eggs instead?
