We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!![President Bush]
Good morning!! Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!
The military deployed anti-aircraft missile batteries around the National capital yesterday for a four-day defensive exercise. The exercise is designed to test the integration of F-16 combat air patrol and ground level portable missile defense.
President Bush has stated it is not the job of the United States to determine who rules in a post-Saddam Iraq.
Lawmakers will hold a news conference today to state what they have found in their probe of Martha Stewart.
In a piece posted on The Boston Channel, Helen Thomas writes that September 11, 2001, changed America, but not for the better. She also said the phrase "homeland security" was an "alien term."
For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.
I've been busy on the NC election threads ..... trying to explain why Elizabeth Dole would be better for the nation than Erskine Bowles. It amazes me that one needs to explain and defend that to FReepers! ..... *sigh*
Just a quick update. Twelve noon passed about ten minutes ago. A number of us are wearing red, white and blue. In the teacher's lunch room, at my urging, we Americans did stand and say the pledge, UNDER GOD included and then we had a quick prayer.
Now to eat lunch.
..... they'd rather vote for Bowles ..... at least he's honest about being a 'Rat.
..... they'd vote for anybody rather than Dole.
They're even calling her Hillary Dole and saying that she and #97 must be best buddies and would vote alike on everything.
How do you become so clueless when you spend a lot of time on a political web site ...... and some of these are FReepers of long-standing.
Oh, I hope so! I started reading some of that Reno thread, and then did a little research on McBride, and I'm not so sure that the clinton machine hasn't dumped Reno and is supporting McBride. So then I don't know WHO to root for to win...LOL! Or is the clinton machine now putting placemarkers into races ala Reno, only to get their real nominee in the back door? </Tin foil hat>
..... but our country has gotten so touchy-feely that I'm sure there will be a lot more tears than righteous indignation. "
Well, I have to confess to being a bit confused about this discussion y'all have been having. To me, grief and anger are both legitimate emotions. Tomorrow's anniversary will most certainly bring back a lot of the feelings we were all experiencing a year ago. For me it went in stages: shock, disbelief, and a terrible, aching sadness.........which eventually did evolve into a steady, growing, deep anger.............
The anger will be back. Oh yes. Most definitely.
But for right now, I am just sad. Very, very sad. And I will cry tomorrow. Heck, I've already started. When I think of the families, and the horrible memories they will be forced to re-live............and not because of the media, but because it happened.............the emotion I feel most strongly is grief.
I hesitated to even post this, since it seems to fly in the face of what most of you are saying. But if I can't say what I think, I might as well find a new place to hang out. And there IS no better place than this.:)
Love y'all.
(((hugs)))
But for way too many people, the emotions will stop there; they won't move on to the anger. My anger is fed by my sorrow for what happened ..... it was so brutal ..... so vicious. So many innocents lost their lives so horrifically for simply showing up for work or taking a plane trip.
We're on the same page, sweetie. And don't you even think about leaving here again ...... ok? That's an order! ....... we need you! ...... *hugs*

And a quick pot of coffee in case I can't get another post completed.

Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
His truth is marching on.
I have seen Him in the watch-fires of a hundred circling camps
They have builded Him an altar in the evening dews and damps
l can read His righteous sentence by the dim and flaring lamps
His day is marching on.
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
His truth is marching on.
I have read a fiery gospel writ in burnish`d rows of steel,
"As ye deal with my contemners, So with you my grace shall deal;"
Let the Hero, born of woman, crush the serpent with his heel
Since God is marching on.
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
His truth is marching on.
He has sounded forth the trumpet that shall never call retreat
He is sifting out the hearts of men before His judgment-seat
Oh, be swift, my soul, to answer Him! be jubilant, my feet!
Our God is marching on.
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
His truth is marching on.
In the beauty of the lilies Christ was born across the sea,
With a glory in His bosom that transfigures you and me:
As He died to make men holy, let us die to make men free,
While God is marching on.
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
His truth is marching on.
