We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!![President Bush]
Good morning!! Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!
The military deployed anti-aircraft missile batteries around the National capital yesterday for a four-day defensive exercise. The exercise is designed to test the integration of F-16 combat air patrol and ground level portable missile defense.
President Bush has stated it is not the job of the United States to determine who rules in a post-Saddam Iraq.
Lawmakers will hold a news conference today to state what they have found in their probe of Martha Stewart.
In a piece posted on The Boston Channel, Helen Thomas writes that September 11, 2001, changed America, but not for the better. She also said the phrase "homeland security" was an "alien term."
For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

The teacher who taught the class said writing down stuff usually befuddles the person who is being critical. I'll have to tell my sister about writing the comments down for posterity. That is too funny.

I just saw your question about John's dad. I haven't talked to them since Sunday but he should be finishing the treatments early next week. He had six treatments left and was going to skip Monday. So 1 week from today he should be done.
He hasn't had very many side effects, we are all happy about that.

Now you've just given me a chance to tell you about a favorite P. G. Wodehouse plot. Gussie Finknottle, Bertie Wooster's bosom buddy, is hoping to marry Madeline Bassett, but he's so intimidated by her father, a retired magistrate, that he can't work up the nerve to ask him for permission. Jeeves, Bertie's "gentleman's personal gentleman," suggests that he think of all the things that he dislikes about Madeline's father and to generally work up a good healthy disdain for him. His idea seems to be that we do not fear those we disdain.
Things get off track, however, when Gussie decides to write down all these ripe thoughts he's having about his prospective father-in-law. After a few days he is on his way to filling a small notebook with scorching epithets and descriptions about the old man when he misplaces the notebook. Who should find the bombshell but Madeline's sneaky cousin, Stiffy Byng, who blackmails poor Gussie.
Read all about it in (I think) Code of the Woosters.

Actually, I referred to it as "Therapy mode" or some such.
Not quite the same as when you elaborated, but much in common.

Oh, I'm so glad the Dr.'s found the blockages.
She'll be a new person when she is pumping at capacity.
Prayers continue for the Dr.'s, you, and Mom.
To: Mr. Mulliner
Remember when Gussie gives Madeline a newt!
Now that's a token of high esteem.

Wow, the White House site is really something. I'll have to take a better look at it later on. Thanks for posting the link.

I just wanted to give thanks to all of you for today's thread. These days, I usually am only able to log on about 8:00 PM, and it takes me quite a while to read through the whole thing (400+ posts?!) however, I learn so much more here than I learn anywhere else.
Jane, I just have one comment about the FL primary. It really concerns me that Gov. Bush decided to keep the polls open because of the "confusion" at the polls. Having a lawsuit ready to keep the polls open, was a tactic that the RATS used in St. Louis in election 2000. In the latest election involving the city of St. Louis, we had news reports of many polling places not being open on time, because some of the poll workers showed up late to open the polls. What would be the remedy for that, you ask? Why we must keep the polls open longer....... This is NOT a good precedent to set, regardless if it is a RAT primary or not.

Oh shoot, I forgot to add one last thing.
I'm counting on you all to capture everything that happens tomorrow. I will be away from the house and most news media all day tomorrow......I will most likely miss the President's address tomorrow night..... :(
To: A Citizen Reporter
Keeping the polls open concerns me also. The stupid Dems are winners in that regard, no matter what. If Gov Bush hadn't decided to keep the polls open, there would have been hell to pay by the media and the whiny voters and the Dems. And by keeping the polls open, there is a precedent set. I wonder if there are laws in Florida governing the time of opening and closing the polls...

It really concerns me that Gov. Bush decided to keep the polls open because of the "confusion" at the polls. Reno sued to keep the polls open in just 4 counties. Bush made it statewide.

I haven't had a chance to read the entire thread, and don't know if this has been announced...... Katherine Harris has been declared the winner in today's 13th Congressional District in FL.

Wow, I am very excited for Katherine Harris. The Dems are probably weeping and wailing and gnashing their teeth.

The Dems are probably weeping and wailing and gnashing their teeth. What a pleasant thought.
