AMERICA - The Right Way!! (Day 598) [Remember the Trade Center!!]
Various News Sources and FReepers | September 10, 2002 | All of Us

Posted on 09/10/2002 4:23:24 AM PDT by Chairman_December_19th_Society

We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!![President Bush]

Good morning!! Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!

The military deployed anti-aircraft missile batteries around the National capital yesterday for a four-day defensive exercise. The exercise is designed to test the integration of F-16 combat air patrol and ground level portable missile defense.

President Bush has stated it is not the job of the United States to determine who rules in a post-Saddam Iraq.

Lawmakers will hold a news conference today to state what they have found in their probe of Martha Stewart.

In a piece posted on The Boston Channel, Helen Thomas writes that September 11, 2001, changed America, but not for the better. She also said the phrase "homeland security" was an "alien term."

For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

BTW, my second daughter has the same first and last name as tonight's winner in Florida. She was proud so many people were talking about her during the election 2 years ago. I'll have to be sure and tell her what happened today when she gets up in the morning.

YAHOOOOO!!!

I've been busy on the NC election threads ..... trying to explain why Elizabeth Dole would be better for the nation than Erskine Bowles. It amazes me that one needs to explain and defend that to FReepers! ..... *sigh*

I am so glad to hear from you. I missed you. You make me smile.

Just a quick update. Twelve noon passed about ten minutes ago. A number of us are wearing red, white and blue. In the teacher's lunch room, at my urging, we Americans did stand and say the pledge, UNDER GOD included and then we had a quick prayer.

Now to eat lunch.

Buuuut Elizabeth Dole is a RINO!!! whine whine whine (I actually quite like good old Libby) Anyway, once the primaries over over, I hope the Republicans can come together and elect her as the next senator from NC. Erskine Bowles, yuk.

You would be dumbfounded at what people are saying ....

..... they'd rather vote for Bowles ..... at least he's honest about being a 'Rat.

..... they'd vote for anybody rather than Dole.

They're even calling her Hillary Dole and saying that she and #97 must be best buddies and would vote alike on everything.

How do you become so clueless when you spend a lot of time on a political web site ...... and some of these are FReepers of long-standing.

I think sometimes some of the people just like to moan and groan. Some of those comments just make me grit my teeth, what those brain dead posters don't get is that the Republicans have an opportunity to take back the Senate and get President Bush's nominees through the Senate. I honestly think they want the Senate to remain in Dem hands, and have President Bush fail. Then they can whine to their heart's content about him being just like his father and betraying the conservatives. Sometimes.../rant

Great news about McKinney's father!!! I heard him after Cynthia's big loss, he is one nasty bigoted man. Perhaps we are starting to see a bit of change in politics...

"Perhaps we are starting to see a bit of change in politics...

Oh, I hope so! I started reading some of that Reno thread, and then did a little research on McBride, and I'm not so sure that the clinton machine hasn't dumped Reno and is supporting McBride. So then I don't know WHO to root for to win...LOL! Or is the clinton machine now putting placemarkers into races ala Reno, only to get their real nominee in the back door? </Tin foil hat>

"We need to stop and remember the victims ...... and when we do, we should feel a white hot anger!

..... but our country has gotten so touchy-feely that I'm sure there will be a lot more tears than righteous indignation. "

Well, I have to confess to being a bit confused about this discussion y'all have been having. To me, grief and anger are both legitimate emotions. Tomorrow's anniversary will most certainly bring back a lot of the feelings we were all experiencing a year ago. For me it went in stages: shock, disbelief, and a terrible, aching sadness.........which eventually did evolve into a steady, growing, deep anger.............

The anger will be back. Oh yes. Most definitely.

But for right now, I am just sad. Very, very sad. And I will cry tomorrow. Heck, I've already started. When I think of the families, and the horrible memories they will be forced to re-live............and not because of the media, but because it happened.............the emotion I feel most strongly is grief.

I hesitated to even post this, since it seems to fly in the face of what most of you are saying. But if I can't say what I think, I might as well find a new place to hang out. And there IS no better place than this.:)

Love y'all.

(((hugs)))

Oh, Mozie, of course we will all feel grief and sadness. Goodness knows, it's taken virtually nothing at all to turn on the waterworks for me all year.

But for way too many people, the emotions will stop there; they won't move on to the anger. My anger is fed by my sorrow for what happened ..... it was so brutal ..... so vicious. So many innocents lost their lives so horrifically for simply showing up for work or taking a plane trip.

We're on the same page, sweetie. And don't you even think about leaving here again ...... ok? That's an order! ....... we need you! ...... *hugs*

I appreciate your comments. I think my heart will be breaking tomorrow for the victims and their families. But I also want to be reminded of the anger I felt last year when this happened. I want to harden my resolve to see this thing through and rid the world of terrorism. Good comments. :)

Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord
He is trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored,
He has loosed the fateful lightening of His terrible swift sword
His truth is marching on.

Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
His truth is marching on.

I have seen Him in the watch-fires of a hundred circling camps
They have builded Him an altar in the evening dews and damps
l can read His righteous sentence by the dim and flaring lamps
His day is marching on.

Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
His truth is marching on.

I have read a fiery gospel writ in burnish`d rows of steel,
"As ye deal with my contemners, So with you my grace shall deal;"
Let the Hero, born of woman, crush the serpent with his heel
Since God is marching on.

Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
His truth is marching on.

He has sounded forth the trumpet that shall never call retreat
He is sifting out the hearts of men before His judgment-seat
Oh, be swift, my soul, to answer Him! be jubilant, my feet!
Our God is marching on.

Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
His truth is marching on.

In the beauty of the lilies Christ was born across the sea,
With a glory in His bosom that transfigures you and me:
As He died to make men holy, let us die to make men free,
While God is marching on.

Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
His truth is marching on.
