That would have looked reeal good if I had seen it before lunch...lol, but, I had something close...
To: lodwick
Loddy, I missed your pic before lunch too. But now I already know what I want for lunch tomorrow instead of another boring salad. ;-)

Gran, I see you are playing again this afternoon? ;-)
Stick Guy is cool and I love the wide-angle effect of your flowers, the sky and the trees are interesting.
To: Kathleen
Does that sound familiar? lol lol

Good afternoon everyone....what a grand day, here in the Pacific Northwest.....its nothing but sunny everywhere, blue skies, temps near 70, the mountains to the east and the west, are visible and beautiful, the fall mums are in full bloom, the roses are blooming again, and trees are beginning to turn all shades of gold, and red and orange, and the contrast against the everygreens will be spectacular come Columbus Day....
BigDom and I are pretty well over our nasty colds, just having some residual traces left...we have survived...
Got some wonderful emails from cousins in Chicago, telling me all about Uncle Harrys memorial service and funeral....Uncle Harrys sons each got up, and relayed stories about their dad....instead of the organist playing only sad religious songs, he played many of my Uncles favorite songs, including 'Take me out to the Ballgame'(Uncle Harry lived within walking distance of Wrigley field, home of the Chicago Cubs), and also a favorite played was the 'Navy Hymn' in honor of Uncle Harrys serving with the Navy during WW11....
They had a closed casket, but around the casket were pics of Uncle Harry in all stages of his life, surrounded by momentos, of those things in life that he loved...
When the funeral procession arrived at the cemetary, they were greeted by a Military honor guard...the honor guard was also there to do the traditional folding of the American Flag and present it to my Aunt in honor of Harrys service....many of the people there, had never seen this ceremony in person, and all said that it was just so impressive and so stirring to see this ceremony done, in strict military order and precision....
So, Uncle Harry sounds like he went out in style...he went out as he and his family wanted, not mourning terribly his passing, but rather celebrating his life...
I do wish I could have been there, but my relatives have all been so kind as to send me reports, and will be sending me pictures as well...
Be seeing you, Uncle Harry, when our family will once again, all be together...

That stupid 'burger looked to good, and I posted it enough that I had to go get one with cheese and a side of crispy onion rings.
One a month or so shouldn't kill or fatten me.

Thanks for the funeral report - sounds pretty near perfect to me. I hope your familie's just a wacky and funny in Heaven - I want to meet these guys.
Maybe it wouldn't be Heaven if we were all different - how would anyone know anyone?

I hope, and suspect, then when we all get to heaven(if indeed we all make it there), that we will all retain that little part of ourselves that made us unique...I believe God gave us all a unique personality, that pleased Him, and how we used that personality, sometimes made Him smile, sometimes made Him cry....but He did make us all different, in His infinite creativity, so I have every reason to believe that He would allow our differences, and our uniqueness to carry through to Heaven...just my own belief, I am sure that there are many who would disagree vehemently with my view....
I believe God created us for His good pleasure....He made us as we are....

Just had a pleasant surprise....Andy just stopped in....came down from Seattle, to retrieve some stuff that we were still holding for him down here....
After having spent the summer living down here in Olympia, with his best friend, he was mighty anxious to get back up to Seattle...Olympia, which normally bores Andy to tears, actually held some attraction for him this summer....he and his best friend(who still lives in Olympia) went kayaking, they bought a motor boat, ,and enjoyed that, and of course the big plus was that Andy had a girlie friend down here in Olympia...but the summer weather is over, the motorboat and kayak are put away for the season, and his girlfriend is going to school in the middle of Washington....
So just BigDom and I and Dizzy were here in Olympia, certainly not enough to keep Andy living down here....so back up to Seattle he went, once he found lodging....hes just thrilled to be back up there, in the middle of the action, the women, the jobs, and activities...
Hes close enough that we can all see each other, when and if we want, yet far enough away from each other, to be a comfortable 'buffer zone'...

Thanks for your thoughts on Heaven. They pretty much mirror my own, but we'll just have to wait and see. ;-)
