Our Tristan
To: acnielsen guy
I know you and your family tried everything AC..but it was a losing battle. It was something he was born with, and took so long and so many DR's to find.. By the time they found out what was wrong it was too late.. Poor little guy, he is so cute and fun loving, and sooo smart..
You did everything you could and he had a loving and wonderful home... No little pup could have asked for more.. smooooch
To: lodwick
When the wimmin named him, I thought of Tristan and Isolde, but they told me that Tristan was a football player in Deportivo of La Coruña.
When we took him for walks everyone knew his name and the children just loved Tristan.

So sorry to hear about the situation with your dear little Tristan...In that pic, he looks as if hes saying, "come play with me"...what a little sweetie...
His life, alas, will have been short, but a short life, filled with love and caring from his human family, is indeed a life well lived...
So sorry for your broken heart, as it does really hurt us so when our animal family is ill and suffering...
I will pray for you and yours this evening..and prayers for little Tristan go without saying...God has him in His good care...
To: lodwick
Keep us appraised of the bourbon tasting and racoon hunting yer gonna do, Lod ;-)Have a good trip!

Have a swell trip Loddy..I love KY, its such a pretty state...my cousin(aunt Helens older boy) teaches at the University at Louisville...
He sure hated transplanting there from California, but has been there since 1969, first as a student, then as a professor...
Aunt Helen goes to Ky every few years to visit there, and finds the change from California, to be a nice one, for the few weeks that she is there...
We need a KY report when you return...

You know Mom, when everyone I know started getting dogs, I thought I might get another one, but I swore after my last one I couldn't go thru losing one again. I still don't think I could.. They end up being one of the family.. and I have enough to worry about.. ;)

Hard to do better than pic, AC.It's one for the archives, and mantlepiece :-)
To: habs4ever
LOL.. knew that would get ya..
To: andysandmikesmom
Thank you mom - he was a bright and playful little guy it is a pity he had such a short life.

Good night everyone see you in the morning.

I know, its just so hard to lose your dogs...My last three died all died within a less than a year span...they were all around the same age, and I told BigDom, when one went, the others would follow, and it did happen that way...They had spent most of their lives together, and when the first one died, the other day were never the same...it just broke my heart....
Helga, the basset was the last one to die...I had her for almost 13yrs, and when she went, I just mourned her so...
I have always loved all my dogs, and cats, and various other animals, but my Helga, (I hate to play favorites), was my absolute favorite...I never gave her any favored attention, never let the other dogs know she was my favorite...its just drole to me, that somehow God saved taking my favorite doggie to the end...
Now we have Dizzy...but part of my heart still belongs to my Helga....you are so right, when you get an animal, they become part of the family, and you worry about them so and mourn them so when they have to pass on...
To: acnielsen guy
Nitey nite AC....prayers for you and your Tristan, during this nite...
To: andysandmikesmom
Yep.. I try to impress upon my kids and family what it means to get a dog or cat. You just don't get an animal.. You get a member of the family.. You have to realize that when the family wants to go away, you have one that usually has to stay home, and be cared for.
You have an extra mouth to feed.. another person/child to take care of.. You have another family member that will cost you money for illness.
You have another family member that you will no doubt outlive and will cause you lots of heartache when you eventually lose them..
Pets are not something you should think lightly of. It's unfortunate that most people do..
When they leave us it's heartbreak for sure..even for the toughest among us..
To: grannie9
You are so right about all of that...
I saw my tough old day cry, when he had to put down our beloved cocker spaniel, Jingles(the fudge thief)...nothing can reduce a tough guy to tears as quickly, than to see his beloved animal family member be sick or need to be euthanized...
Pets are a real responsibility, thats for sure...and they steal your hearts...
