Great story Mom.. My daughter has traveled by bus.. You made all the stories she told me about her trips come home to roost.. So very true about the bus drivers.. They can be Gestapo Agents or nice. She never met many nice ones... ;)

Most of the drivers, except for the music hating, cig hating driver, were pretty nice...but there are always the stinkers....no matter...I always envisioned that grumpy driver, as being surrounded by cig smoking, music playing wife and kids....that would be sweet revenge...

Greyhound bus driver Mr. John Levine, who was kind enough to stop at the Greyhound terminal long enough for us to enfoy a brief confection at the Poorhouse. Mr. Levine is a 41-year veteran driver with Greyhound, sixth in the entire country in seniority.

John's one of the GoodGuys...Props to all the GoodGuys.

Oh, thats wonderful Loddy....it really does take a special person to be a 'good' Greyhound bus driver...you have to contend with all types of people, drive long miles, keep the atmosphere on the bus pleasant for everyone, be responsible for hauling cargo(which is, as I understand it, a big money maker for Greyhound), keep to a schedule, and try to be pleasant, no matter what...

Its not an easy job, but this is a great pic of an obviously happy driver ...YIKES....41yrs driving a bus....thats a long time, guess he really loves his job...

Thanks for this...it makes me just smile to remember all my Greyhound adventures...

Pace yourself with that scotch....

When Andy was in the British Isles on one of his business trips, he brought us back a bottle of Scotch, from Scotland(he thought this appropriate, as he and I are partially, Scots)

Now BigDom and I are primarily beer and wine drinkers...but we saved the scotch for special occasions...every holiday, and birthday, or event, BigDom and I each drink a shot of Scotch, followed by a beer chaser....that was my very first experience with Scotch....I did not like it, and it really went to my head...

However, each time we have a shot, I get to like it more and more, and need less and less of the beer chaser...we will have a shot of that Scotch this Labor Day, drinking to the end of summer....

Perhaps I will really, really like it this time...perhaps its an acquired taste, and I am acquiring it...

Well, time for me to get offline...my dear Dizzy, says, enough is enough now, come and give him some attention and treats....

And I have a few things to do before I go to sleep...need to get up early in the morning, to go to the store...getting up anytime in the early morn, is not my usual rising time, so always have to go to bed early, when the grocery store calls me...

Well most of us have a long Labor Day weekend coming up..a three day weekend for all to enjoy, and reflect on their summer, and envision looking ahead to sending their kids back to school, and before you know it, voila, the holiday season will be upon us, beginning with Halloween....

I have already begun looking though my troves of treasures, to find my different Halloween decorations and Halloween dollies to set up around the house...

BigDom has a really magnificent sculpture of Dracula, that he paid quite a bit of money for....its a full figured sculpture of Dracula, with a leering smile, his cape furled to the back, and he looks just like good old Bela Lugosi....
BigDom has special gnarled branches and twigs he has collected and we set up Dracula with a backdrop of these branches and twigs and vines, and then turn off all the lites, save for a special blue spotlight that shines on old Dracula.....it really looks spooky and eerie...we set up pumpkins and fanciful Halloween decorations and Halloween dolls all around the house....

We just enjoying decorating for the fall and winter holidays, so when they approach, we start to get excited...

Anyway time to stop blabbing, and get offline and do what needs to be done...

See ya all tomorrow....
