Thank you loddy and you too..

Thank you Loddy.. We are off to Mass to our old neighborhood for the yearly block party Clambake and Lobster and Steak cookout..with all the fixings. All our old neighbors will be there, and our son Gary will be the DJ again this year.. (That's enough to frost your Grandmothers preserves...)
It's supposed to be warmer and more humid..but there will be lots and lots of drinks..(will there ever, and that's why we have a hotel room for the night) a pool and boat rides.. All under tents and door prizes )mostly booze) and laughs for all..
We haven't been for a couple years so it will be fun to see all the people we knew and loved for 35 or more years..with all their grown kids.
Children are not allowed so will see only the grown offspring.. Sometimes the littler ones are running up and down the street tho.. looking for Granny or Gramp..or Mom or Dad.. It's a deadend L type street so it's a good street for parties and always was for the kids to raise hell on and play..and of course the pond is in the rear..
I will take enough pics to make you all weary I'm sure...

Nor would I ever crawl under a desk to escape an atomic bomb, for crying out loud
lol
childhood in the '50s
some things were around long time before we arrived
remember this from last day of school
''no more pencils, no more books
no more teacher's dirty looks
no more tables, no more chairs
kick the teacher down the stairs''
on the other hand, we were modern
we hid under desk from atomic bomb

It must have been that coffee.. or something more sinister that caused that mistake.. I think I do need to get away for awhile and get completely out of control...and I will.. ;)

today's photo from nasa is the fireworks in oregon this past july 4th
tomorrow they promise to show us the shooting stars
my most vivid memory of shooting stars is when the guy who worked in post office in old forge
(a hamlet in adirondack mountains)
I think his name was chuck
opened up a miniature golf course
it was my first experience of playing miniature golf, I loved it
it was set on top of a hill across from fire station
I was totally engrossed with making my shot
and my score card
I was 10 years old
but it was August
each time I looked up there was another shooting star
it was wonderful watching them
thanks for astronomy pic

Just taking a few minutes breather, from packing and such, getting ready for the trip up to Seattle...BigDom is still asleep, having gotten to bed at 5am...but I will have to wake him up by 11 or 12 or so...so he can wake up, pack up his stuff, load the car and off we will go...
Poor Dizzy, he was so pesty last night, spying my suitcase...he just knows when the suitcases come out, he will be alone for a while....but he can sleep, and supervise his yard from the kitchen window, and I left his bowl of catnip for him on the floor, and he has plenty of food, fresh water, ,and the all important litter box..so he will be ok, just not happy, because no one is here to pet him and admire him....such a baby, but a sweetie, nonetheless..
The weather for the weekend promises to be sunny and warmish, so it will be delightful, to be out and about in the summer air, enjoying whatever we are doing...sometimes we dont have to do anything big at all, just getting away from home, eating out, being lazy, is lots and lots of fun...
To: andysandmikesmom
Thanks for the update - what would Dizzy do if you put an auxillary litter box on the bed? Find someplace else to place your present?
You guyz have a wonderful adventure. ;-)

Well, we fully expect to find a little present on the bed...we would close the bedroom door, except that bedroom window is his favorite window to look out of....it opens to the whole of the front of the house, and he can watch the kids, the cars, the people, and various other animals passing by....it would be hurtful to not allow him access to his favorite window while we are gone...
I just figure, if he poops on the bed, I will just strip the bed, and wash everything on it, so no harm done...especially because his poop is always just rock hard, as he refuses to eat anything but hard food...so its never a big nasty wet mess...always a snap to clean up...ah, the sacrifices we make for our dear pets...
Still dont know for sure what we will be doing up in Seattle...just that BigDom has sports events both Saturday and Sunday nites, so I can use that quiet time back at the motel to read, something which seemingly I do less and less of, since I have been on the internet the last few years...I love to read, and lately just dont do as much of it as I used to do...
As long as I get to eat out, ,have a few snappy drinks, and run into some unusual characters, I will be happy...I am easy to please...

Be on the alert today and tomorrow, for a special package coming in the mail...I mailed your package Tues. so it should be arriving eiher today or tomorrow, that is if the post office is doing its job....hope you enjoy your new teddy bears...
Take care of the remarkable Lulu, and make sure she gets all her choice foods, her Kraft singles and burgers...she knows how to eat well...
Do you have any more shopping excursions planned? I am still chuckling about your leaving Bill and his cart in the grocery store, so that you could run out and buy a dress..that just tickles me no end, and shows, that you are a true dedicated shopper...you are a clever one, thats for sure...of course, Bill should not keep you on a timetable when he takes you shopping...women lose all sense of time, when shopping...

if your son Andy runs into a cheapie used laptop
maybe he can snap it up for you
if BigDom loves his sportsnights in Seattle
you can post with us from your hotelroom (in future)
that way you can have both
As long as I get to eat out, have a few snappy drinks, and run into some unusual characters, I will be happy

I have been considering this...I need a laptop for my trips away from home....I hate being away from the internet for days...that is the biggest drawback to our little trips...so I have been meaning to talk to Andy about this....My birthday is in Oct, and perhaps if I drop hints, he will catch on....
He is the one he bought my original computer, 4yrs ago at Christmas...I had been talking and talking about getting one, and he figured I would stall around and might never get to it...so he went on ahead and bought it...
And then I was yakking about having a Disc player(cant think of what they call them) to replace our old VCRs...so last Christmas that is what he bought us, figuring again, that we would never get around to it...
So I should start dropping hints now, about having a laptop...my birthday is in Oct. and then comes Christmas, to maybe by Christmas he will have gotten the message...
It would be fun to have the laptop in the motel, and could give out current reports of our trip...and chat with everyone when BigDom was at a sports event...
