I bet the red sauce with sausage was delicious
what a blessing you had gas stove when you lost power
I guess daylight from windows let you see what you were doing
did you use candles at night
Was Candy scared or did she take it all in stride?

Candy was a hot dog once the house got warm. It was very warm and humid here on Saturday, not the ideal day to lose power. I sat next to her on the floor and fanned her. Also dumped all the ice cubes from the freezer into her water dish.

Thankfully the power came back on before dark. I was afraid the stove would heat the house up unbearably, so I waited until the power came back so I could run the a/c and cook at the same time.

Candy is an amazing little trooper and doesn't really care what is going on around her, as long as she is with us, she's happy. Such a little sweetheart.

I'm not sure about the BlueLight - is this connected with K-Mart?

The rest of Chris' thoughts about evilness in high places rings true enough with me. Thanks for posting his thoughts.

Good afternoon all...was busy this morning, doing the wash, cooking BigDoms dinner, packing up his lunch....

Whenever BigDom returns from one of his weekends, I always time the washing up of the bedquilts and sheets to be dry, and toasty warm straight from the dryer at about the same time as he is ready to lay down and take a brief snooze, before heading out to work...so had to get that all done, and all his food prepared, before I dared come back online...

So BigDom is home and right now, snoring away....but he said he had a really good time at his rock and roll weekend, and there was lots of entertainment in the park...the headliner for this free concert in the park, was 'Jan and Dean'....I guess it was really crowded, the music was great, and everyone had a good time...so I am happy for Bigdom, that his weekend went off in fine style...

Poor Dizzy got a tremendous startle today....his big chair that he prefers to lounge in, is a big old armchair, that I have padded up with a great big quilt...and that is Dizzys favorite place to snooze and sleep....now this big arm chair is in the family room, and it is right in front of the doors which unfold to reveal the washer and dryer...(no separate utility room in this house, just an area hidden behind some folding doors in the family room)

Normally the sound of the washer and dryer never startles Dizzy, I think he is just used to it...but when the washing machine with the quilts in it was spinning, apparently one of the quilts got off kilter and when the washer was on its fast spin cycle, all of a sudden, this off kilter quilt, just made the washing machine make an awful noise, and thump and bump and jump around...all it took to straighten things out, was just rearranging the quilt in the washer...

But that loud off kilter noise, just scared the crap out of Dizzy, ,and he went flying across the family room, through the kitchen, and sent him into hiding for a while...poor guy, his eyes were bugged out of his head, and he was traveling at the speed of light...

Finally he reappeared, but looked so ever cautiously at his big chair...I could see he wanted to get up there but was afraid that if he did, that terrible sound would come back...it was so funny watching him, almost go on tip toes up to his chair...finally he took the leap and jumped up there, but kept looking in back of him, almost daring that washing machine to make that awful sound again....

Well, the wash is done, just the dryer going, so Dizzy can relax, and indeed he finally fell asleep...he says, thats enough excitement for one day, leave him alone...

Wnet to the New Windsor Cantonement in June. (The last winter encampment of the Continental Army) Neat place. Didn't get to see the headquarters buildings in New Windsor proper.. or any of the old causeway (It's off limits- 'environmental damage' from humans walking through... puke)
Haven't gotten the chance to visit the Ice Caves yet this year. (That's across the way from you, North of me by a few miles.. Mountaindale is closer to there than I am.. but I hear it's a pretty place.)

Yeah, being only 32 miles (according to mapquest) from another FReeper is kinda odd....

I have a theory that my cat has the physical structure of a Marshmallow. She squishes until she can fit her wide butt under the chair. Then she doesn't want to talk to anyone for awhile.. and we're supposed to get another storm today.

Most of my friends would have gone outside and kicked over a rock, speared whatever was underneath. Lightly toast it, and slather it in BBQ sauce......

Needless to say, I prefer to use Charcoal and Lighter fluid and make a nice little fire and burn up .. er.. cook some chicken.

Glad to see you've gotten power back. Quite a few people in N.J. still haven't gotten power back yet.

sorry to read about Dizzy's trauma from the washing machine
Kearen is squished under Darksheare's chair like marshmallow
(and refusing to speak to anyone)
Happy is cowering under my desk
luckily when I made two huge hamburbers for Happy and Lulu today
Happy ate both
he needs his strength to weather the storm
Lulu is watching it from the window, she finds it interesting

what training are you suggesting Neets do for her romantical weekend
neets, I heard playing ping pong helps
I have no idea why
back in '70s my friend Linda had new boyfriend
and he criticized her lovemaking
and suggested she play ping pong
(I may have some details wrong in this story)

Hey Palo...you have it right about sissy Dizzy....loud noises, sure do scare him...and he is frightened of other animals....

The only time he is brave, is when he spies an intruding kitty cat in our yard, on the other side of the sliding glass door....he knows he can growl, and hiss, and stand up tall, and scratch the glass door, because he knows he is safe behind that sliding glass door....but he really is just a big old sissy boy...

Poor Happy, cowering under your desk, while Lulu watches from the window...she is not afraid either, as we know, those bassets are brave souls and can face anything...

Helga was never afraid of anything either..our Bully, her mixed breed brother was so scared of the garbage truck, and his early Tues. morning rounds....all the noise just scared poor Bully to death...but Helga, was brave...she used to run out there, and poke her nose and mouth throught the chain link fence, and bark and holler and carry on, until the garbage man left...Bigdom, used to say, she was giving the garbage man, 'Hell'....and he had better watch out, because if Helga got outside of the fence, she was big and brave enough to flip that garbage truck over..

Ping pong as antidote to poor lovemaking?? That's a new one ;-)Gosh could it be that Boom Boom Neets got a head start and Tuscon is flooded because of her??

Why didn't Linda go to the apt where all the pornos were being filmed with your pal from the Bronx, and take notes??Hey...geez ;-)
