Good afternoon all...was busy this morning, doing the wash, cooking BigDoms dinner, packing up his lunch....
Whenever BigDom returns from one of his weekends, I always time the washing up of the bedquilts and sheets to be dry, and toasty warm straight from the dryer at about the same time as he is ready to lay down and take a brief snooze, before heading out to work...so had to get that all done, and all his food prepared, before I dared come back online...
So BigDom is home and right now, snoring away....but he said he had a really good time at his rock and roll weekend, and there was lots of entertainment in the park...the headliner for this free concert in the park, was 'Jan and Dean'....I guess it was really crowded, the music was great, and everyone had a good time...so I am happy for Bigdom, that his weekend went off in fine style...
Poor Dizzy got a tremendous startle today....his big chair that he prefers to lounge in, is a big old armchair, that I have padded up with a great big quilt...and that is Dizzys favorite place to snooze and sleep....now this big arm chair is in the family room, and it is right in front of the doors which unfold to reveal the washer and dryer...(no separate utility room in this house, just an area hidden behind some folding doors in the family room)
Normally the sound of the washer and dryer never startles Dizzy, I think he is just used to it...but when the washing machine with the quilts in it was spinning, apparently one of the quilts got off kilter and when the washer was on its fast spin cycle, all of a sudden, this off kilter quilt, just made the washing machine make an awful noise, and thump and bump and jump around...all it took to straighten things out, was just rearranging the quilt in the washer...
But that loud off kilter noise, just scared the crap out of Dizzy, ,and he went flying across the family room, through the kitchen, and sent him into hiding for a while...poor guy, his eyes were bugged out of his head, and he was traveling at the speed of light...
Finally he reappeared, but looked so ever cautiously at his big chair...I could see he wanted to get up there but was afraid that if he did, that terrible sound would come back...it was so funny watching him, almost go on tip toes up to his chair...finally he took the leap and jumped up there, but kept looking in back of him, almost daring that washing machine to make that awful sound again....
Well, the wash is done, just the dryer going, so Dizzy can relax, and indeed he finally fell asleep...he says, thats enough excitement for one day, leave him alone...
