Special thanks to Brigette for starting this timeline. |
If he disappeared and they can't locate him he might be dead.
Everything here is interesting, sandude. Otherwise, I'd be reading a good book.
Rhetoric is not being a valuable contributor, in my estimation. If there is any valid proof, then I'm all ears.
Neither do I. No flag, either. I'm just one of those old time conservatives who believes in preserving personal identity (on principle) as much as possible -- no easy task in the 21st Century.
My interpretation of what Jengaio posted to you was her attempt to get clarification on your position. I didn't see any insult there. Gauging emotion is difficult for all of us when we can't see or hear the person.
We agree on this!
That's true. I don't put my pants on backwards either. I hope that is OK. Just kidding.
Jen, I've been a member longer than most of the posters on this thread and I honestly do not know what these people are talking about. From my time at FreeRepublic a disruptor is usually a liberal who joins just so that they can disrupt a debate on a conservative issue. Often times they are exposed by a member who notices that they have only joined that day or just recently. It certainly doesn't apply to you. Please keep posting and ignore the snobbery.
jen, I did not call you a disruptor. I did not call you anything. I did reply to your questions in the post of reference.
No, he didn't act alone. It's not by chance he happened to have the same license plate number as Edmunds, a number that was not registered with the Utah DMV for any car by the way. Along with mentally challenged he probably has a real bad drug habit too that puts him in the company of losers like Edmunds and Ricci. Ricci didn't run the cover for his Jeep of taking it in the shop then hiding it somewhere from May 30 till he finished taking care of business that included digging in white mud in a remote area with bugs and pine needles because he was taking a group of cub scouts on a campout. And somebody met this scumbag in the Honda in the Shriner's Hospital parking lot before he drove up in the Smart neighborhood on the morning of Jun 5.
I have posted many times on Ricci & the jeep. Nobody has proved one #$%!^* thing about the jeep! The police & media have used Ricci as a distraction, because they have no one else. Smarts are obviously using him to keep a lid on who really committed the kidnapping, fearing for Elizabeth's safety, for she could still be alive.
Go back & listen to their comments to the kidnapper - like, as another freeper said, talking to a child. They know who it is!
Disruptors want to get off the track of what is currently being posted, spinning back to old issues that have been cussed & discussed.
cookiedough is new but she is open to what is being said, offering some common sense opinions.
If YOU aren't a disruptor, I apologize, sincerely.
This is a theory some people have because of the way Mrs. Smart addressed the possible kidnapper early in the case and a couple times since. However, she used other approaches too to cover all the bases and as another poster pointed out, these appeals are often written for the family by the FBI. From what the milkman said this guy seemed to be kind of a hothead but this guy being mentally challenged is the speculation of some people and one that I don't share.
I think the Smarts were pretty much left out of the loop of the investigation until they brought Boylan in. I think they know more now but I still don't know that they know the identity of the person that came in the house. And I think it's possible the police have self serving reasons for protecting the ID of the kidnapper rather than because they think it might help save Elizabeth.
Heaven knows where he & Elizabeth are. He'd have to have money wherever they are.
One thing, I feel better now about Ed's strange t.v. appearances, the letter, fax, e-mail, etc.

While it's possible that your conclusions here are on the mark, I will respectfully disagree. I think if LE knew that Ricci was not involved they would make an announcement clearing him. If his lawyer felt that Rick had answered all of LE's questions satisfactorily then he would be holding news conferences blasting the police for not exonerating his client. For these reasons I believe that LE still believes that Ricci was somehow involved in this. Just because we can't prove anything about the Jeep doesn't mean it is off the hook. As far as I know it is still in the possession of LE. Why would they hang on to it if they weren't still suspicious? I may be giving LE too much credit but until they announce that Rick is no longer of interest to them in this case then I'm going to keep on suspecting him as having involvement.
The details that have come to light in the last few days also point to a possible Ricci connection. MK recognized the voice of the perp. This is a significant revelation which may have been leaked by the Smarts without LE's blessing. It doesn't mean that voice was Rick's but it doesn't clear him either. It does clear many other people. It is tough to piece this thing together when we are missing so many of the puzzle parts. Your speculation is valuable as is my humble criticism of it. Let's hope that more information will come forth and that this case can have a happy resolution.
He could be a person of means, but maybe a loner? Maybe someone who has watched her at church or other venues, even making an overture to her that no one (she and her family) regarded at the time as being serious? I don't think he's very old, not older than 35 or 40. Maybe younger if this is not a true abduction.
I would hope LE is (has) checked all such sources.
This is the kind of back & forth discussion we need. Thank you.
Please reconsider Jen, your input has been thoughtful and helpful. Please don't let someone else's insecurity drive you away. If you'd like I will develop a software program that will add an 'f' to lakey's name anytime it appears on your computer. Now lakey, if you are reading this I hope that you will learn from this incident. Your rudeness to Jen was uncalled for.
