thank you habs
has the market settled down any?
I didn't have time to read the news when I was on thon
and when I got off thon my puter was dizzy for while
so I lost the rhythm of news
Love, Palo
I used to work on wall street
the newspaper I worked for was called The Wall Street Transcript
I don't know if it is still going
I was secretary (and proofreader! lol) there
The editor and owner used to do a roundtable each week with people like you
who would talk about how they see the market doing and what will happen

hi oki
I read Dollie's autobiography
she's an interestin' woman
very intelligent I think
she said her best friend is Jesus Christ
he tells her who to hire
and who to fire
lol she is divinely helped in her business enterprise

(westy got the same one)
from someone who said ETs have taken over his brain and he needs help
all I could think to suggest is he have a nice piece of carrotcake and calm down

Nope, the markets aren't settled down, but , hey, that's what it is like in a bear market. The news get magnified in such an atmosphere of pessimism, but to sell off, people have to begin to fear and doubt that life will never return to normal again.EVER.
It's maybe about the only common denominator in all the bear markets I've been in , and that is the "atmosphere" about them.Only when there's no one left to sell will it be over, and right now, I'm not sure about all the weak holders of stock having sold off.Lots of people still ride it all the way down, hoping against hope that things will turn in their stock, etc...and then sell at the bottom when they have finally given up.
I bet i could turn someone into a good trader/investor if ALL they had was a keen grasp of human nature and could understand psychology, plus be willing to work hard at honing that skill.

Great advice! when ET's are attacking your brain, have some cake and a nice glass of tea....LOL

Mornin' Oki....chivalry prevents me from delving deeper in the mystery of bra magnets, but i am needless to say perplexed at to their use..
This is a subject that is suitable for us graduate students ;-)

Good Morning! Checking in here, been busy doing my "Hazel" routine in preparation of the visit from the MIL tomorrow evening. My plan is to get everything done this morning, and then spend the afternoon at the pool.
Tomorrow the Hazel routine shifts into overdrive.

Good Morning! I hope you have a good stockplile of medication on hand and have been practicing your smile for hours on end.Remember, don't grit your teeth!!
You are going to have a ball!! lol
To: Kathleen
Hi kathleen
what is your plan of action
to stay calm cool and collected
and space out while she is there ?
Love, Palo
can't you watch her torture your hubby
and sit on the sidelines
To: habs4ever
you have good grasp of all of this
bear market is time to pick up bargains lol
Love, Palo
To: Kathleen
can you hang out at pool whole time with Candy
and let her be alone with hubby
To: habs4ever; palo verde
Yes, that's the plan. They shouldn't be here until late tomorrow afternoon, I'll have plenty of time to medicate myself privately before they arrive. :)
And yes Palo, spacing out while she's here is my only salvation. If I let her engage my brain, she becomes a vampire and she draws out all my energy. She is exhausting.

when we lived in nyc all the family gatherings were my family
but right after we moved to tucson, there was a christmas party here at bill's sister's hubby's parents' house
bill's mom and dad came in from San Diego
so did his sister and brother in law and their son
I discovered I did not have to sit in the living room during the excited discussion about bill's job hunting prospects in tucson
it's not my family no one is emotionally involved with me
I went to the tv room with my nephew
and watched ''What's the matter with Bob'' on video
I heard them all torturing Bill in living room lol
To: palo verde; yall
Morning Sweetness, DD types. Day 11, and still no Billy.

you are sensible
if you are allowed to be away from her physically that is ideal
if not put your mind in nother place
and be friendly and pleasant and agreeable
To: lodwick
hi cookie
I guess my old newspaper is still going strong lol
I worked there few years, got fired week before christmas
but I was asked to stay on a month to train the new person
To protect me from ''humiliation'' no one was told I was fired
At christmas party I drank champagne and made joke bout boss
someone cautioned me, ''watch it anne some people here have ears''
for some reason it tickled my funnybone and I cracked up
''what can he do to me, I'm already fired'' I said
it worked out well for me
cause day after I left the job
I cleaned the apt from head to toe
and settled down to be a writer
I thought it was now or never
and boss was nice about unemployment insurance
Love, Palo
To: habs4ever
lol you read my mind
if someone says help the ETs have attacked my brain
what else can you say but have a slice of carrot cake and nice cup of tea
you could suggest a cigarette too if they like to smoke

you know westy my last job in nyc was for a physician
a psychiatrist
I was her private secretary in her home
like every job I learned a lot on it
I learned the name of all the pills cause she had me write the prescriptions for her
(they are called Rx in MD talk)
but when I wanted to leave she wouldn't let me leave
that's why I think it's better to work in an office (or factory)
my friend Linda back in nyc has same problem now
the lady she works for as private secretary won't let her leave either
it's cause when someone works for you in your home and you know them and like them
you're reluctant to take on someone new
