I still think she launched massive banning when she had server overload problems
to solve the overload
also someone suggested advertisters like turnover in posters
so new posters see and respond to ads for first time
I think it was business decisions, not personal or political
altho I am still baffled by rude letters some posters received when they were banned
it doesn't add up for me
Lcom had many exquisite posters who wound up on FR before the exodus
who came either because of rude letters banning them
or because they found more life on FR
they never joined our exodus thread
and most who were on our exodus thread, only stayed on it two weeks
I see them on other FR threads

Good morning. What an interesting article. Somewhat inaccurate, but nonetheless interesting. Palo, you are a star. :) When we were on TOS weren't you written up in Salon, too? lol
I don't get the point of the article. So what if we all came over here together, I don't think the author refers to the DD thread, but the one we started on. I don't get the part about "not bothering" to post articles or post on news threads. We never posted articles on Lcom, either. I have seen the posters mentioned posting out on the news threads.
After GWB was elected, Lcom experienced a dramatic change. We couldn't address each other and the "rules" as enforced by GB, were ever changing and impossible to keep up with. The rule during the week was that we couldn't speak to each other, but on the weekends suddenly they cared what we thought and encouraged us to discuss whatever topic they decided was relevant. On Monday morning, we were back to the no speak rule. They treated us like some collective experiment growing in the bottom of a petri dish. No thanks. The day the big red, condescending warning signs showed up on every single thread, it was over for me.
There are many more chat type threads besides this one on FR, why didn't the author notice that?
I hold no ill will toward Lucianne. I still read her Short Cuts every day, but I never read anything else because her rules make it impossible for posters to share knowledge, analyze events or learn anything.
Why anyone would care to write an article about this is beyond me. But it was fun to see you all mentioned. :)

at 6:30 am something happened, I don't know what
policemen are searching everyone's yard in neighborhood trying to find the gun
I guess they think ''he'' threw it into yard
Lulu climbed onto policeman's lap and into police car
policeman was policelady and did not mind

Gran what a cozy pic. Makes me want to set a spell over a cup of tea...
I know what you mean about rough mornings. Hubby and I were out on the porch last night drinking and listening to the frogs talk to each other.
The cloud of Pledge and Windex I'm stirring up this morning isn't helping my poor head...

What a perfect spot and gorgeous sunny picture. I'll bring some homemade scones over if you'll have the coffee ready..........

Good morning, Chrissy! I recall that you had asked about a photo of my new kitty. I posted it awhile back, but I don't know if you ever saw it. Did you?

This Smoke Bush turned from green to pink.. It will next change to yellow/orange and then to brown.. I save the brown for wreaths and flower arrangements.. It's a very old bush and they are a little rare... I'll try to get a pic of the whole tree today.. It's very pretty now..

I was only a lurker when you all exodused (if that isn't a word, it is now!) and I was struggling with a new-to-me web adventure. Wow, I had a time finding "YOU PEOPLE". The write-up and early thread dredge up a lot of memories.

hi kathleen
I am same as you
Lucianne and her staff were always wonderful to me
I continue to wish them well with all my heart
however a wonderful poster like tomkat was treated abysmally by her staff
unless a crazed hacker wrote those letters to him
something amiss was going on that I was not aware of
I only found that out when I arrived on FR
I left Lcom with love in my heart
I still love lucianne, her staff, and the posters back there
tomkat is an angel, so some mysteries remain
I found the move to FR refreshing at the time
I had been on lcom for year and a half, I was ready to explore something new

Being able to speak to each other for the first time was quite an exhilirating experience and it took awhile to become accustomed to freedom of speech. I have no regrets, and I'm so glad that you found us. :)

Hey you two, that sounds soooo good right now.. Hop a plane. We'll chow down and have a swim.. Beautiful day here today..
I bought a bunch of new flowers this morning.. Will try and get them in later when it cools down some.. Right now Scones and tea or coffee sounds goooood...;)
My hangover is better.. I think shopping cures most things... lol
