I saw ''The Tender Trap'' with Debbie Reynolds and Frank Sinatra
but the ''marriage go round'' has familiar name, but I don't recall the movie

I'll bet someone would help me set my puter up, and then I'd be as popular as a CBer, sending messages to everyone's friends and relatives - and you know how the hours fly once you're on the computer. (pardon me....I'm going out and see what's happening and if I should unplug...JUST KIDDING!)

look what it takes to get oki to join us for an evening of posting
she has to be under threat of evacuation :)
To: okimhere
I also am not familiar with these movies...

You are right. You travel where I use to down there you won't find many power outlets or phones either...I tend to stay away from the tourist traps....lol...

what is diced Jacama
your salad sounds tasty
he spins his lettuce so it won't get that black ooze in plastic bag
I just throw out the lettuce when the black ooze is there and buy new one

One time in Chicago the factory next door to our house caught on fire...my dad went running around our house, waking everyone up, and telling us to run downstairs and go outside, because that fire was really blazing...
Instead of listening to my dad, I ran into the kitchen to see the fire out of the kitchen windows...
Well, when I saw the whole factory on fire, I just froze in place...could not talk, could not move at all...my dad had to slap me hard, across the face to get me back to myself...
I just froze like a statue, I could not believe I was so full of panic....good thing my dad had more composure than I did...

she has to be under threat of evacuation :)HaHa. That's funny, love! Actually my two appointments for this evening cancelled because neither husband can get up the hill, and it takes both husband and wife to sign loan documents. I hadn't thought of that until you mentioned it.
Plus which I'm grabbing the doorway and saying "I won't go.....!". I went out and looked - the wind has died, the smoke hangs heavy and hurts my lungs a LOT, and the western sky glows but no leaping flames to be seen. Phew -

Food slaves is what we are...you see how Palo has been well trained by Lulu to purchase her Kraft Cheese Singles, and roast beef for the roasty beef parties...

Uncouth? Nope. It's been spun already. So thank the spinner who did your dirty work ;-)

When I read of a family member staying in a house and dying in the fire, I wonder why they didn't run outside. I'll bet that's what happens - panic freezes you in place. I've never experienced that so I didn't know.

Oki's dedication is awesome.Rome is burning and she is as cool as a cucumber and posting to us!! grace under pressure ;-)

Jicama is a root vegetable. They sell them in the supermarkets here even though we don't have all that many Hispanics. I peel them, cut slices off and dice them. Another way to eat them is to make sticks, like Mcdonalds french fries and dip them in salsa and eat......

it sure would be nice if you didn't have to evacuate oki
(then you'd stay on with us till we all went to sleep
or Dizzy made andysmom get off)
it would be nice blessing too if you didn't have to evacuate
you'd have your normal routine at home
To: westmex
sounds tasty
if they have them here I'll try it too
thanks westy
To: andysandmikesmom
HaHaHa ....... not only is Palo trained but she LEAVES HER COMPUTER to get individual cheese slices and roasty beef. I'll bet nothing else could get her to do that (well, unless Bill needs to send an email). Of course, Dizzy knows what buttons to push, too, huh?
To: andysandmikesmom
your dad is good in emergency
he could have been ems technician

Rome is burning That has me laughing out loud. If they drag me onto a fire truck, I'll be grasping my computer and the wires will all be trailing in back of the truck. ROFLOL
To: okimhere
I can still remember that nite...I was just a young teenager...and thought I could do anything...but I still remember the absolute panic I felt, and the feeling of being trapped inside of my body, unable to move or speak...it was really scarey...thank goodness, my dad knew to smack me good, ,and it seemed to cut the panic...otherwise he would have had to carry me down two flights of stairs...
I have also heard of people, when leaving a house on fire, thinking that they should grab some of their valuables(Jewelry, important papers, etc)...but they are in such a panic, that they grab weird things...
I read about one woman who got out of her burning house at the last minute, because she told the other people in her house, she was grabbing the valuables...when she got outside, all she was holding was a raw egg in each hand...in her panic, she wanted to take something, and for whatever reason, grabbed two eggs from the fridge...
So, I can understand panic, and people acting in a strange fashion, or being absolutely frozen with terror...
