What a beautiful photo, Westy...looks very inviting...

My hubby and son went to the Mariners game today...I see that the Mariners lost 5-1...but I dont expect they will be too upset...after all, the hubby and I started out in Chicago, and the Cubbies, were our team, and we both spent many a happy day at Wrigley Field...

So, if the Mariners had to get beat, we are not distraught, if its the Cubbies, that beat them...

Besides, they got to see Sammy Sosa, hit a 3 run homer, so that was great for them to see...

Then they are are going over to Hales for dinner and beer, and I am sure the hubby will order a take out pizza, for his evening in the motel...hubby will return tomorrow afternoon, just in time to take a short nap, and then get ready for work...

I always think its good for the hubby and son to have time alone together, with out me with...When the boys were small, I was with them for more of the time than the hubby, due to he fact that he was miltary, and military schedules, never figure families into the equation...

And then when hubby was overseas, and TDY, I had to be both mom and dad to the boys...

So its, nice now, that the hubby has the luxury of more money and more spare time to spend with the son...

So I am sure they are having a good time on their boys night out, without this old woman tagging alone...

Morning Captain, everyone.
The Ring of Fire pic is amazing - Johnny Cash would be proud.
Wishing everyone the very best today. JL

AC.,....I clicked onto 'Fred' and found the article...it was the same one I got in my email box a day or so ago, and its really one of his very best columns...the childhood world he described is the one I new and loved...Fred was right on target with just about everything he said...

I found 'Fred' a long time, and after reading a few of his columns, I signed up to have his column emailed to me, whenever a new one came out...Everyone should read 'Fred'....thanks for posting the link to him, so everyone can read him...

Pinged all these folks to read 'Fred' and give a much needed bump to our DD thread...

What with the Freepathon going on, and nice weather all over, and people being out of doors, or out of town, our DD thread needs an occasional bump...

I am in and out of this thread, the Freepathon, and the Canteen...so much to read, ,so little time...

I wish the Freepathon would get some more badly needed donations, so things can return to normal here...

See ya all later...

Westy, have you seen the latest weather forecast for our area, at least for Olympia...sunny and 75 on Tuesday, 78 on Wednesday, and 80 on Thursday....perhaps summer has finally arrived....

Now, hopefully I can pack up my long underwear, until Halloween, and the furnace can get a rest, and I can get a break on my gas heating bills...

I too like to read Fred on Everything - he has so much common sense and stands like a beacon of integrity in a nation of political and journalistic cowards.

Can anyone doubt that he speaks the truth week after week to the embarrassment of the craven ones as he holds a mirror to show the ugly face of the new reality that their PC games have wrought.

About a year ago I signed up to have Fred's articles emailed to me. I look forward to reading his columns each week, there are so few left who dare to speak the truth.
