tree update~
first of all, we found out both trees are post oaks and each one is 125+ years old!! most likely, the one dying has root rot--probably from construction damage and too much water. the arborist is going to do a fungicide treatment of the roots and see if the tree responds. if it does, then we will do a much more aggressive treatment to try and save its life.
we are leaving for maryland tomorrow and will be back next tuesday.

Living this close to DC, recent terrorist warnings have had a tendency to make everyone's hair stand on end. Planting trees has been a wonderful diversion. :)
Chrissy, there have been frost warnings here all week. Tomorrow night your tootsies will probably be cold so you should bring a pair of socks, just in case. Or you can park your cold feet on Bill, instead. :)
Palo, I didn't attend any reunions, either.

Good morning, Palo. This cold weather made us do a turnaround, didn't it? I had to go to the cedar chest and bring back winter clothes. The heater is going, I made hot chocolate, brought the potted plants back into the garage. It's not NICE when Mother Nature fools us - LOL!

Hi Kathleen
I got notice of big high school reunion the summer before we left for tucson
but my nyc life was collapsing on my head then
going to it was out of the question
Did you grow up in DC area?
Bill grew up in Baltimore, I know that's not same thing tho
his uncle was cartoonist for army, and lived in fancy DC suburb in Maryland
all I know bout your area is the crabcakes are delicious
love, palo

HeeHee.....cock of the walk! He's fully dressed and good lookin'. His comb looks like it froze a bit at one time, or maybe I think that because it's already up to 47° here. (The guys will talk about roasting him, I know. I have to admit, I had that thought, too.)

I grew up in CT, moved to MD 16 years ago. When I met hubby, I moved to VA because Virginia is for lovers. :)
My relatives up north make fun of me now because I can't handle snow and cold weather anymore.

I just saw a little kittie emerge from the tent into the sunshine
first one of the black cats came out
then little kittie chasing her
kittie is cute, she danced into the sunshine
she looks like her mama
gray and white striped tiger (looks like marble)
love, palo
To: Kathleen; okimhere
hi kathleen
freepers all say Virginia is beautiful
are you a southern lady now
lol it's funny how fast we become a wimp
in tucson no one can handle weather when it drops below 80°
we kvetch when it's too hot
but look at how oki is calling mother nature unfair for bringin' her cold spell
(and I'm ready for it to warm up already too :)
love, palo
To: OneidaM; habs4ever
lemme know if you want me to have Dr Habs fix you hot toddy
I can dispatch him toute suite
To: Kathleen
but for walkin' Lulu it will be much easier that it's not blazing furnace out there
it's been l-o-n-g time since we had cool delightful walk
bb in a lil
I'm gonna find her leash
love, palo
