tree update~
first of all, we found out both trees are post oaks and each one is 125+ years old!! most likely, the one dying has root rot--probably from construction damage and too much water. the arborist is going to do a fungicide treatment of the roots and see if the tree responds. if it does, then we will do a much more aggressive treatment to try and save its life.
we are leaving for maryland tomorrow and will be back next tuesday.
