I would only mock you if your name was Chartreuse - then I would be merciless.

That's the point! There are green EVERYTHING except mammals. Why?

Because mammals taste too good to ever be confused with veggies.

Seeing your grilled halibut....daughter Deni was wishing I was as good as Dad was in using the outdoor grill....he did halibut particularly well--according to her--I couldn't tell ya cause I don't like fish!

So, her birthday dinner was a great steak, sauteed mushrooms, baked potato, homemade bread, and salad...and on the way home she stopped at Marie Callendar's and picked up a couple of slices of pie....the slices of pie were eaten the following night!

I was so stuffed from din-din, I didn't eat til the next afternoon....and that was steak [I only was able to eat about 1/3 of it that night] and sauteed mushrooms. I still had steak left over--cut it up and put it in the cooler and munched on it while heading home!

Daughter found a little Italian food place you could order food to go not to far from her apartment.....it was so divine.....I swear, if I thought they'd be in business for the next 20 years or so, it would be awfully tempting to move down to the Phoenix area where life would consist of nothing but working out to work off the lasagna! Man, oh man, that was some awefully good eating.

Cooking on the grill is one of those things that I have permanently filed mentally under "men's work." Even when camping I keep the food very simple...hot dogs, open and heat stuff, cereal and fruit for breakfast. I can and have cooked on the grill but I don't like it.

Seriously authentic Italian chow is to die, or move for.

You too can cook fish on the grill: Sprinkle semi-generously with GarlicPepper, wrap in sturdy foil, place on the upper grill thingie, and cook over medium low heat for 15-20 minutes.

You chef you. ;-)

"Men's work" classification works for me!! LOL

As to camping....I'm sure you will recall the many posts made to Mo about camping when Jessie was about to take her great adventure a couple of weeks back :).....I don't do that well, either. LOL. Unless its in a Winnebago or some such....complete with indoor plumbing, refrigeration, heat, nice beds, carpeting, etc.

Course, if lifes choices became a weekend of shopping or a weekend of real camping......I would have to contemplate something really drastic! Dear, just the thought of shopping vs real camping makes my skin break out in hives or a rash or somethin'!

Anybody else watching the Fox interview with Chris Tucker? Geez, i can't help wondering when he speaks of Clinton if he is talking about the same Bill Clinton we all love to hate. He is saying that he is so cool and so humble and that he asked to be in his movie! What a disgusting man. I will never understand why he is still popular with some of these people!

...big sigh... Loddy, dear......it is YOU who does not understand--what part of "I don't do grilling" and/or "I don't like fish" do you not understand? Sweetie, it is all I can do to periodically act as though I can actually cook a full course meal in a fully equipped kitchen! :)

I cannot stand fishing with a rod and reel of any description--BORING!!! I cannot stand cleaning fish--GUTTING and SCALING is disgusting!!! I cannot stand the STINK of cooking fish!!! I cannot stand the TASTE of fish!!! [note: exception is tuna, which I love as a sandwich when combined with relish, onion, and miracle whip--not mayonaisse, but miracle whip].

Other than that, fishies are nice in the ocean, seas, lakes, and streams, and apparently brooks, as well as aquariums. :)

OK---I'll bite--just who the hell is Chris Tucker and why would he/she be believable in any way, shape, or form, as it relates to the Perverted President?

Actually I really enjoy doing the camping thing. One of the best sleeps I ever had was up by Cottonwood Lake in Buena Vista, Colorado. I had worked all night the night before and we got to the site about midafternoon and got the tent set up just in the nick of time before a serious downpour. We crawled in the tent and snuggled down in the sleeping bags for a nap with the rain beating down on the tent. I must have been completely out of it for about 3 hours or more. And I woke up feeling SO rested.

I just rec'd this News in an email

Black Leaders Gather in Detroit
By GERALDA MILLER
.c The Associated Press

DETROIT (AP) - Black leaders converged here Saturday for a town hall meeting in advance of an annual fund-raising dinner benefiting the NAACP that is billed as the largest of its kind.

Among those taking part were Democratic Reps. John Conyers and Carolyn Cheeks Kilpatrick, both of Michigan; Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick; the Rev. Al Sharpton; and attorney Johnnie Cochran.

The conversation grew heated on topics of slavery reparations and whether former President Clinton was good or bad for blacks.

``He exploited black sentiment because he knew the rituals of black culture,'' said Michael Eric Dyson, a professor of religious studies at DePaul University. ``Bill Clinton exploited us like no president before him.''

Conyers encouraged the crowd to take action if they want to see change: ``You've got to do something to make your community a better place to live and work.''

The weekend's activities culminate in the fund-raiser Sunday night for the Detroit chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People.

The NAACP Fight for Freedom Fund dinner usually draws about 10,000 people. On the Net:
