Hearing my kids' tell me I'm a good mom;
hearing my husband tell me he loves me, and knowing he means it;
watching my children succeed in their endeavors, and walk with the Lord;
fellowship with Christian friends;
listening to great music (especially Beethoven);
sharing my love of music with my students
singing beautiful songs;
fresh spring mornings and crisp fall afternoons;
snowfalls with gigantic lacy snowflakes, especially on Christmas Eve;
family vacations to the mountains or the ocean (either one);
looking at pictures of our wonderful President and First Lady, and knowing that morality and dignity have been restored at the White House;
resting in the peace of my Savior, Jesus Christ.
That's just for starters!

That is a cute doggie in the header!
Hmmm something that makes me happy! There are lots of things, but one that comes to mind quickly is my youngest son (age 12) really enjoying his food. He'll say Wow, Mom, that was REALLY good! That makes me smile!
And it makes me happy when Sir SuziQ and I can get away for a weekend by ourselves. It is great having older kids who can come home for a weekend and watch the younger ones! See, we grew our own sitters!

What makes me happy? When I can spend the day like I did today, puttering in my flower gardens, pulling weeds, planting more flowers, seeing my 18 rose bushes in full bloom and the aphids all gone thanks to the ladybugs we bought and released!
The beautiful warm California sunshine, my family, and like the darling lady that begins this thread, my sweet little Maltese, Lambchop, who loves me unconditionally, and always is happy to see me come home!

Cheerios on my floor-my little ones won't be little forever
Reading books
Praying for others when they have a need
Singing
Listening to music
A dandelion bouquet from my son
A chilled bottle of Moet
A star on this week's spelling test
A good conversation with a friend
Sleeping in on the weekend
Having a husband that does things with our children
Tiramisu
Playing in the sand
Walking barefoot in the grass
The rustling of leaves beneath my feet in the Fall
When the snow looks like it has diamonds scattered over it.
The sound doves make
Riding on a swing
Baking Christmas cookies
A Sunday afternoon nap with my three-year-old
Children that say "Please" and "Thank you"

Good morning ladies! Happiness is:
A new day full of possibilities
Drinking morning coffee on the deck at dawn alone with the birds and squirrels
Hearing nice things about my daughter from strangers
Petting my dog
Time to read a good book
A lazy Sunday afternoon
The whole family at the dinner table (a rare occurrence these days)
A job well done
Taking time to pray and reflect
Air conditioning in Texas
Spending time with friends
My computer

Sailing on the lovely wooden ketch, Abigail, heading south out of Eggomoggin Reach and then into Jericho Bay close hauled with the wind blowing about 20 knots - no greater feeling of freedom than that! And of course, when home bound, my two kitties.

I am happy when...
I put on a pair of pants or a jacket and find money in the pocket...
I go to buy something and it rings up lower then it is marked...
my kitties get along...
my husband does the laundry...
customers call with all the correct information...
people exhibit good manners to each other...
a new recipe turns out great the first time I make it...
my family is happy...
I am on vaction.

Just a few:
A free Friday night spent having a Sashimi feast with my husband.
A day alone catching up on house and garden odds and ends (yes, it makes me happy!)
Seeing a new bird species in the backyard.
PEACE AND QUIET.

Please share what makes you happy.Oh, what an appropriate thread.
My 'puter got hit with the Klez virus this past weekend and attached itself to all my executable files. So programs wouldn't launch. After rooting around in my root directory, I tried to quarantine the rogue files and inoculate them, only to have the worm zap my Norton AntiVirus AND Zone Alarm. There was no way I could get online for 4 days.
Talk about frustrating--withdrawal ain't purty. Anyway, we finally got the vaccine from Symantec and I'm back online today. Yay!!
I should've known when we saw an e-mail from my husband's boss on Saturday that it was the virus bomb. He never e-mails us on Saturdays.
Simple pleasures make me happy---like internet access.
Howlin, love your homepage.
