What I don’t understand is - it is being reported that the first officer/co- pilot stabbed the captain pilot . However, the pilot that is injured in the video has 3 stripes. A first officer has 3 stripes - not the Captain. The Captain has 4 stripes.
The co-pilot only sustained minor injuries. So, that video is the pilot who was attacked - and he’s the co-pilot… not the pilot.

It is being reported the captain was Indian. Captain Smit . The co- pilot was from Oman. Two Indian Pilots traveling as passengers landed the plane.

While the heroes aboard the flight deserve that salute... I think that some thanks should be given to God... who was obviously in control and prevented the evil one from scoring a victory this time. The only question that remains is... what “other” plans does the enemy have, yet unrevealed and so far unattempted. High alert status now re: more possible “enemy” pilots.

israelis like americans have learned from 9/11 - passengers will no longer sit like sheep when a plane is hijacked.
In past years I have flown qemirates but I doubt I will be flying airlines with HQ in any middle east countries except El Al. And probably avoid airlines in other muslim countries like Malaysia, Indonesia, etc.

18,000 feet would make me soil myself.
I was on a plane that dropped a thousand feet or so in just a few seconds in a thunderstorm, and all the food and drinks we were being served ended up on the overhead dripping down on us and a bunch of the luggage doors in the overhead popped open spilling out contents.
I saw a woman in front of me who was not belted in, and she flew out of her seat and smashed her head against the overhead. There was another woman in the head who had to be taken off the plane on a gurney when we landed.
Ugh.
