Yes, but too many people read science fiction and start believing it as real. Some even hallucinate about capturing power from particles floating in space.

There are no aliens, there are no ghosts. Only physics of reality rules the enormous universe. I am 100% certain there are planets in universe with life. Only problem is universe is so vast and so sparsely occupied by solar systems, it is impossible to travel there. In our own milky way galaxy, the nearest next solar system is too far to reach. There is vast darkness of nothing in between.

In other threads on FR, I have expressed skepticism on whether the Oort Cloud exists. As far as I know, we have never seen or photographed anything that is in an Oort Cloud. A comet nucleus that doesn’t yet have a lit-up tail would be nice. Now after reading this message, I’m wondering if we will ever have evidence for the Oort cloud.

Yup. It's a mathematical construct to explain (or just say, kludge) to make the Solar System formation construct work. AFAIK, AFAIC.

We’ve got a keyword, “rogueplanets” (or maybe no ‘s’ on the end, or maybe both) about planets sans stars. I’d post it, but a five topic link post in #3 was deleted for no reason at all.

Immanuel Velikovsky was a polymath who wrote about his theories that in early human history there were cataclysmic celestial and planetary events. He was lambasted but since then much of the steady-state views held by his opponents have been proven wrong

Any comments on my Velikovsky reference?

Thanks! The Catastrophism ping list began life as an informal and stealth version of a Velikovsky ping list, mostly because that notorious web troll Ted Holden had spent some years stinking up the place with his BS, under many multiple nicks (so many there's actually a skeptics webpage about just his FR nicks). However, the bulk of the pings (it's a low-volume list) pertain to catastrophism, rather than to the reconstruction of ancient history.
