An airline passenger was duct-taped and zip-tied by other travelers and crew after he hurled racist and homophobic slurs in an unhinged mid-flight meltdown — forcing the plane to divert on Thursday night, according to a report.
The bigoted passenger was on American Airlines flight 618 from Dallas to Newark when he flew off the handle with a fire-and-brimstone-fueled diatribe at his seatmate around 10:15 p.m., prompting a black flight attendant and passengers to step in and restrain him.
When the flight attendant intervened, the buffoon then hurled the n-word at him and spewed anti-gay slurs, according to TMZ.
Footage shows the man mummy-like, bound and tied to his seat — his hands, head and torso restrained.
As the knucklehead went completely off the rails he lashed out physically, smacking his seatmate and smashing his computer.
A female passenger then began to help the man next to the blowhard but the creep pushed her back.
Three other male passengers then jumped in and contained the unruly man with duct tape and zip ties.
American Airlines told The Post in a statement that the flight was diverted to Baltimore “due to a disruptive customer” and that when the plane landed “law enforcement met the aircraft and assisted with deplaning the customer before the flight continued to its destination.”

Racist
I took a big rock? other large object? to the center of the windshield late last night, on I-75 coming home from a concert. Definite glass replacement. Knocked the mirror loose, destroyed the glue bond there.
Wife held the mirror (it was a pendulum hanging down from the wiring harness), I got off an exit or three down. Couldn’t figure out the trick to release the 2nd of 2 electrical connectors. Got duct tape and paracord out of the trunk and attached the loose mirror to the passenger visor for the remaining 30 minutes home. Wanted some zip ties, but couldn’t find them. Generally have regular zip ties back there.
But for a-hole restraint, you really want something bigger than a regular zip tie, like an HVAC duct strap.
“homophobic slurs”
He slurred he was afraid of homosexuals?
As a first-flying youngster in the ‘70s what I recall is:
1. Real silverware during meals, even the in the cattle class. And real food.
2. Free decks of branded playing cards to while away the time.
3. Hot Stews. I mean the stewardesses. I’m told these days I’m not supposed to refer to the cabin crew as “stews”.
4. Visits to the cockpit where the pilots proudly showed off and explained to the kids all the very cool buttons and switches before takeoff or while in flight. Every kid on the flight from 5-12 years old were rounded up and taken to the cockpit for a tour.
5. After the cockpit visit the stews handed us those little plastic airplane wing pins with the airline logo.
Were the 1970s really that long ago?
Hahahaha. Well played.
Gif....
I was secretly hoping some fellow distinguished cinema buff would post that. Good work.
RE: ... passenger duct-taped, zip-tied...
Co-pilot: “So did you understand your rights as I read them from my card to you? Moan or scream once for a ‘yes.’”
“Oh, and sorry for stepping on your crotch down there. We had a little turbulence.”
Exactly! Could be a case of male menopause.
But since few know what a woman is, could it be postpartum aggression?
Let me guess, he was on his way to a Carnival cruise and he was warming up? Or maybe he had just eaten at Waffle House....
He was experiencing a rush of high-T aggression. Couldn’t help himself.
Being a frequent flyer.... I have exercised immense self control with the help of God, to not go off on all the unpleasant experiences traveling. Now.... I wear a Burger King crown and people don’t want to sit by me......
Zip ties are the modern version of baling wire. Wonderful inventions.
One of my son’s best friends is in law enforcement & told a story how he checked in at the airline desk with his paperwork to show he was carrying plus he had ammo. He got on the plane and a stewardess outed him and made him a target. He still carries every time he flies as do a lot of law enforcement.
So is free speech an offense that requires duct tape and zip ties?
Ok, reading, there’s more to the story than words. Because if it’s only words, this guy has a strong case.
HA! Good one!
LOL carrion luggage. Have a dead, bloated raccoon in your wheeled bag.
I really have a problem with emergency landings for these assholes as it screws up connections for the other passengers. Just zip tie their ass and put them in the back of the plane and taser as necessary and continue to destination.
Many years ago, shortly after 9/11 a passenger tried to forcefully enter the cockpit. He was crazy but other passengers restrained him and sat on him. It killed him, and no charges were filed.
I always have a few dead racoons in my carrion luggage.
